You don't have to rebase for Old World, you can just get a movement tray with space, so that you can still play old editions of Fantasy.

ok im new to this channel and wanted to see about human faction in sigmar. But your rant at 11:30 - 12:30 is a HUGE thing that I think plagues not only warhammer but every single tabeltop war game. Picking what models you think look cool without following any synergy or army design *usually does not pan out, and is genuinely not fun against someone who picked an online/tournament winning list (which is lame af to anyone who actually copies tournament lists). I really I want to strive to find a mix of both, rule of cool, and army synergy, I think the games will be more fun to watch and play. I watch many battle reports of Imperial Guard where the player gets "schmear'd" and they make wild claims and complaints about the army. I'm just really glad someone touched on that topic.

CoS was the "leftovers" faction. You couldn't even easily buy the models for it. It was a catchall for anyone of those six armies that already had a WHFB army. I think they finally decided it has been long enough, and it was time to make it a faction proper. I love the aesthetic, and I love the idea of an army of the common-folk, and as you mentioned the models reflect that diversity nicely. As a Vampire Counts WHFB and Soulblight AoS player, I can't deny the allure of Lethis. I certainly have enough extra undead bits for conversions.

Actually super happy that GW made the decjsion to move TOW to 25mm squares because the beauty of it is i dont even have to rebase! All my stuff i kept on fantasy squares - print up a movement tray All my stuff on rounds - magnet trays, metal washer under the round base! Woohoo!

Subscribed, damn it! :D I've just gotten back into Warhammer and I'm having a great time. I used to play Warhammer fantasy back in primary school. It's been almost 30 years since I bought my last Bretonnia regiment but me and my 5yr old have been having a blast painting Kill Teams and playing small skirmishes. I've bought a bunch of paint, 40k and kill team stuff and have just started looking at Age of Sigmar. This video REALLY made me want to jump in with this Army set. Those minis look AMAZING! Great painting result! And cool review! I was considering getting it to start CoS army, but due to how it's still a mix of so many kits I decided to not do it. Ironjawz are supposed to get new minis soon, so I'd rather save for that. It would be useful if we knew more roadmap from GW... Maybe for an upcoming year?

I’m really excited to get myself a box. Cities is something that intrigued me, but the models ranged from pretty cool to not aged well at all. These new boys and girls are right up my alley. Also, I agree that the ally system is a better way of incorporating the idea of cities. I, like a few others, was disappointed that the dwarves and elves didn’t get the love humans got, but you were right that it is still possible to have jolly cooperation with much more developed factions, than just old world hand me downs. Even gw seems to be throwing that play style a bone by having several cities have ties to the other factions in the lore descriptions. Anyway, sorry for the long comment, but I’m just really excited about this faction.

I loved building these and i love the fact i don’t have to rebase 6000 points of dark elves again. But the rules now feel like 3 different armies because of lack of synergy ( a bit like the orc warclans). True ‘diversity’ would have been units with all three races in them.

I’ve never played a AgeOfSigmar and no nothing about the story, but this is the army I’m going to starting out because I can’t see the other factions working in a day-to-day setting. I look at the new cities of sigmar models, and I can see the models doing the day-to-day things for example, the steelhelms are the common city guards. Everything has a place in the living breathing city, except the dark elves .

I just got my army box today. I have a bunch of horses on pre-order a box of Dark Elves and a box of dwarves, this was my go to army abs I can't wait

Seraphon & Gravelords are my favorite. I really like the Lord of the Rings Iron Hill Dwarves look, but the AoS Dwarf range is kinda slim.

I think if you stick within each race you are fairly ok just choosing anything you like the look of - they'll all have some kind of place. Especially with the human side, the synergies there seem pretty flexible.

I am so torn with CoS, I play WarCry so something this size is not something I would need (and as a potential AoS player I am daunted by the complexity of CoS) However, from a painting perspective CoS plays to a major personal desire which is all black scheme in the vein of the Black Company fantasy books.

Id like to try out AoS but I have a huge pile of shame for 40k. Im not sure I want to start another pile.

Glad that the set is very posable. I'm very drawn to armies with a lot of visual customizability. Regarding the aelves and duardin in CoS, I'm fond of the CONCEPT of various races working together, but I'm hesitant to paint up (for example) Dark Elves in my chosen city's colours because it just doesn't match aesthetically. Give it a couple years for CoS to put out more synergistic aelves and duardin, not this weird segregation of CoS Humans, old Dark Elves, and "Dispossessed" dwarfs. As for my unbuilt Dark Elves, probably going to paint them in my Daughters of Khaine colours for Dark Elves aesthetic synergy for alternative gaming systems (like One Page Rules)... or possibly a Har Kuron army should GW put out rules for it.

They're a bit too uniform for my liking, in oldhammer what i loved about human factions were that you could have some peasant who didn't own a pair of shoes fight alongside a veteran with a gilded breastplate, it portrayed that "uniting against evil" aspect of warhammer. They'd look great for Necromunda though

The *best faction* , it would be more accurate to say. While Warhammer Age of Sigmar is all the best, it's a fact.

The best part about CoS is and was the mix of races: The whole population of a city working together - It's inspiring and opens up really cool narratives. I pure human army would be boring as hell (Imperial Guard 2.0) playing against netlists is abnoxious. One usually don't has a chance against those lists since they really on cheesing so much that you can't compete without cheesing yourself.

Learning how to unmirror your screen might be nice..

To be fair, Slayers were an army in Warhammer Fantasy as well. But they were cooler than Fyreslayers for sure
