While I’m sympathizing with the people whose houses were demolished, I also want to stress out the bad habits of developers encroaching on not just riparian land but also road reserves! Kwanza hii mambo ya kujenga right next to a highway then in the future when government wants to expand the roads you start claiming for compensation is very annoying! This pushes up the overall cost of the road project as a good chunk will be redirected towards compensating those displaced, and at the same time it slows down the construction time since it takes months or years to fully compensate the affected people!👎☹️ Our road reserves must be respected!
