Hey Guys, Major MB for another video, today i took another car from my work and this is a Citroën Saxo with the 1.1 Petrol engine with 60bhp, in this video i do the first test drive to see if the car runs good and if everything works properly.
Great cheap city car.

Love the car and the video! My grandfather owns a Saxò of the 1997 with only 68.000 KM and it is such a beast. That little, tiny engine kicks ass!

I have a year 2001, 5 door white saxo with the same style interior in factory like condition with 130K km in it. I bought it in december 2019. I am a very calm driver and i take care of the car very well. It is my first car and after i got used to it i got interested in the capabilities of the car. So i try little by little on country roads and let me tell you one thing, when i went full send with the car i was just blown away by how exciting it was for me. (i did this once) The sound of the engine made me excited, i was not going very fast but the engine sound was amazing. :D I don't know if it was because this was my first time but it was very exciting. It is not that fast as todays standard but in the city it is a very agile car. Even on faster roads too.

@@norbertagoston9320 Now that I think about it, didn't they use Saxos as rally cars? They're really spry cars, I'll give them that.

@@DarkSignal59 Yes, that is true :D in the 2001 season Sébastien Loeb and the team dominated in the first Junior World Rally Championship season with the Citroën Saxo VTS S1600.

I had one myself many years ago. Also 1.1i and absolutely loved it. Fun to drive and nippy like a go kart. I'm over 6ft and didn't feel too cramped either it sat two large adults in the back without fuss, had not a bad sized boot and a funky yellow colour with colour coded seats and instruments. I might get another one tbh if I can find one that's been looked after. Great little motors and the 1.1 costs peanuts to run!

My mom had this car for like 10 years bought it new, after almost 20 years of driving it began having problems, still drove but the door on the passenger side was hanging a bit, and french cars are known for rust but the Saxo was fine considering the abuse it went through, one thing that was very good was the gas milage!

These cars such as the saxo, 106 and mk 4 golf always remind me of my childhood used to see em everywhere. Would love to own one even though the powers not great still great cars

1.1 Saxos and 106s were surprisingly fast for a 60hp car as they were small and light, you could get away with a 1.1 as they were are more like a 1.4 C3 whereas you’d need the 1.4 in a C3 at least due to it being a bigger and heavier car.

In 1994 it wasn't the Saxo but it was the AX. 😉 The first Saxo was launched in 1996/97.

how do you shift so smoothly? Do you blip the Throttle on upshifts?

That wouldn't be wise when you're shifting up.

you only do it on downshift to get the rpm on the perfect line up with the lower gear

@@codykamminga9667 there are both great cars, aygo is much comfort but Ka engine was much better, unfortunatelly i had so manu problems.. 😪 (sorry for bad english)

When PSA didn't even think about making engines for MINI that have notorious chain problems or consume to much oil.

Chris konte the 1.6 THP isn’t a PSA engine, it’s a BMW Engine that PSA also uses, and ofcourse Mini, because they’re owned by BMW

Very good choice as a first car (I've got the diesel engine as my first car) Be careful about the rust (but this is one seems to be pretty new)

absolutely, i am talking from experience, i have a 2001, 5 door white saxo with the same interior style. The car is almos in factory like condition. I have zero problems with it, very reliable. This is my first car, i have all original papers when the first owner bought it in italy. I bought the car in december 2019 and in £ it cost me £1300

I think it depends very much on your financial capabilities and what kind of cars you like to drive , me I am also a beginner still can't afford to buy a car , I use my mother's Opel Corsa b an old car that has some problems and it's not extremely comfortable to drive , althought I like that it's a small car and easy to do manoeuvres and parking it as well , so it was very helpful for me to learn driving with a small car now it depends to every person's needs and skills

I drove 3 diesel '99 model year Saxos during my driving lessons, one had no power steering and was horrible to drive (extremely painful steering, the '98 Punto I had at that time had no power steering either but it wasn't as bad as that Saxo), the other two cars that did have power steering were pretty fun to drive though. However, the car itself is way too narrow and uncomfortable inside, at least for someone like me who weighs over 100kg. Also, some models don't have a temperature gauge.

i am 110kg and it is comfortable for me, maybe it is personal preference, also the standard seats fit me perfectly. My saxo has power steering and it is very handy in some situations, very agile car with 1.1 petrol engine, mine has 60hp

@@norbertagoston9320 well I have a 140 kg workmate who drives a Daewoo Matiz, after all everyone is different and I can't argue with that. The Saxo is indeed a very nice car to drive as long as it has power steering, even the 1.5 diesel with 57 hp is fairly nippy.

my grandpa has saxo 1.1i from 2001 but 5-doors version, unlucky he is too old and doesnt care about the car, old tires, old fluids, etc. if he hit more than 4k rpm, the car would fall apart propably xd
