I just wan to add to the comment of the guy being set off because this band takes secular jobs outside of their city of refuge job..awwh 1st and 1st "you have not a heaven or a hell to put nobody that's 1st..2nd of all what did any of these guys do to make you worthy to judge them other than doing something that takes years of practice (after) being anointed to minister musically to the masses wether it's at church, in stadiums or during a studio recording..I doudt that God would give them the talents to just be heard in one setting or another as long as they are claiming him as their personal savior " he who have not sinned cast the 1st stone " what does it say about your self righteousness is unto him..I would becky we all seek him for "ourselves " be blessed brother in God...

Reguardless of the foolish comment made by whoever this Jamel dude is, they are killing, the choir is blazing, the band is slaying. I guess Jamel likes dead church. The young people are ministering to the people and this is a concert not sunday morning worship. I was there......

When did it ever become about us and music.Saints we are losing sight of God and the things of God.We have more musicians but less revivals.The enemy is misleading so many of us.It's not about singing,drums,and keyboards.When we play,it has to be unto the Lord with a lifestyle.Did you know many of these musicians that you are clapping to also do secular gigs.Let's open our eyes and pray for the church.

as long as they are praising GOD (not you) IT'S ABOUT GOD, whatever it takes for them to do that. If God is pleased who are we to judge. I don't need your forgiveness nor did I ask for it. I SIMPLY SAID HOW I FEEL. , I'm not a fake Christian that always have to find fault in others. Maybe you should try something different sometime before you knock it. I understand that we may not agree on the same thing. But Christ is love and to say that you are not my sister and I am in the body of Christ is very sad. I am not here to pick on anyone, but to say lets go higher in the LORD. I am not being judgmental, I am just ready for revival in the body of Christ. We are so churched, but we are not experiencing the real move of God. We have yet to experience real praise and worship in the church. We need a revival and to be made whole and have intimacy with Christ. Alot of us seek glory from man, yet we were created to worship Christ in spirit and in truth. Our talents nor our abilities will save us. I love you and pray that God will continue to bless you.

And whats wrong with playing for secular gigs, The bible does say that your gift makes room for you and brings you before many great men. At the end of the day they are gifted to play what ever genre of music that they choose. Stop be soo churched cause it ain't all about church. Niggas get mad at musicians when they do secular gigs, but then the church at funny and don't wanna pay them their worth. HAVE A SEAT FAM, your doing too much! Go make sure you house is in order before you try to pass judgement.

Have you read the verses that outline that they that serve in the temple should live of the temple? And that Paul mentioned that he had a right to receive money but just chose not to? That the old testament priests were obligated to slay the offerings, but also to eat from what they slayed? Just some thoughts. There is clearly abuse in the religious world. But that is on them and God will judge that, and harshly I might add. But the clear message is that a servant is worthy of his hire, and the context was temple servants. It just allows them to simply concentrate on offering their best in the house of God without having their stomachs growling. Or losing their spouses because “daddy doesn’t put food on the table”. That’s all.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with a musician taking a secular gig to make a living for himself or his family. If the church is that worried about being "contaminated" by worldly influences, then stop using sound systems, microphones, cabling, processors, computers, the internet, and the like. (they were all developed in the secular world and NOT in the church) Stop using synthesizers, drum sets, brass instruments, latin percussion and even shakers (they were developed in the secular world) As a matter of fact, return to symphonic music - the baroque period to be exact. Pre classical. If you know anything about music history you will find the church called Beethoven's music the "devils music." It never ceases to amaze how church people know so little about music, when music was created by God to begin with. Bunch of simple minded church people. READ A BOOK!
