I have a 2019 English SE (top trim etc) Was 1.5 years old and cost £15k. It goes like stink up to about 50mph then is a bit slower as it is 1 litre. There is actually even more in terms of gadgets than were mentioned here with the mirrors giving a warning light if something is in your blindspot and actually going crazy if you indicate to move out whilst that is still the case and me moving from a 13 year old toyota to this was an education. Keys stay in your pocket. It has braked a few times when it thought I would hit something which was wierd but not at all unsafe. The boot is 20% bigger than my previous hatchback too. One negative for me is that it is wide. It feels like it is anyway. I've never been happier driving a car though I have to say an I am an ex-biker. The manual 6 speed is very nice but you soon hit the rev limiter until you get used to changing up quicker through 2-3-4. I also have heated seats which weren't mentioned and a panoramic sun roof (amazing). I can also talk directly to the car as well as Siri or whatever the phone has (nuts). Makes a nice noise too when accellerating. Problem is I can only play loud rap music as that is all that suits the car.

Hi. This Car is definitely one of the best modern Cars. Also the Engine is not as sensitive as the other 1.0L Turbo Engines of the other Manufacturers. But still, of course, you should do the Service regularly. However, I prefer a Model with a Sunroof or Panoramic Roof 😏 What I find very important in a modern Car are an Emergency Brake Assistant and a Blind Spot Warning System. The ACC is a cool extra Option. In my opinion, you don't need all the other Systems. Greetings to Irland

Great review! I love Ireland but haven’t visited for some time. I’ve got a 2017 1.0 SR which I’ve had from new. I love the car and how it drives etc. However, I was recently made aware of the timing belt, which is in oil, needs replacing at 6 years or 75,000 miles whichever comes first. In the Uk it’s being priced at around £2,000 to replace. I have reluctantly decided to replace with 1.5 Sport, which has timing chain as I’ve been told the cost of this would be reflected in future trade in where this is due imminently. Have you been made aware of this in Ireland?
@doolanbrian7 ай бұрын
We are charging €1300 for timing belts !! £2000 seems extreme !!

Great review! Do you know where the catalytic converter is located on this car? Thank you!
@doolanbrian3 жыл бұрын
It’s located under the car, if you can imagine underneath the car, the exhaust goes from the engine all the way to the back bumper, the exhaust becomes visible underneath the engine, the catalytic converter is located between the two front wheels .. in realty it’s a little bit back behind the front wheels along the exhaust , but that’s probably the easiest way to think about its location but if you need a video I can do it 🙂

@doolanbrian Жыл бұрын
They are reliable but a service history with an oil change every 10,000 km is imperative, if it doesn’t have that, then they can develop issues for sure 👍

Great video lovely car one question is there a petrol particulate filter in it and do turbos give trouble in them?
@doolanbrian3 жыл бұрын
There is a gasoline particular filter in these vehicles.. Turbos and engines can give trouble .. If the car has a correct service history where it has been serviced every 8000 to 9000 kms , it should be a trouble-free car however the issues we have seen are consistently linked to lack of servicing, so regular oil changes will bring reliability however lack of oil changes increase the probability of engine or turbo failure 🙂

Nice but the ~£1700 cambelt change due every 75k miles or so needs to be made clear to buyers. Why they didn't stick with a chain like the 1.5 who knows.
@doolanbrian Жыл бұрын
It seems to be very expensive in England, we charge about €1250 in Ireland, I believe part of the reason that there is a belt on the 1 L is that they found it difficult to make the 3 cyl engine run smooth with a chain … So using a belt allowed the engine to be more refined apparently!
@Amilo20007 ай бұрын
I also have this same engine. The reason why they didn’t stick to chain is because this engine isn’t really from Honda. The manufacturer of the 1.0 engine is Peugeot and then sold to Honda. I bought mine without knowing the cost of the belt but luckily the store I bought it from made sure Honda changed the belt before delivery. It costs here in Sweden over 20000kr which is over 2000 euro!
