I don't know why but I'm in love with that I30N

I was not expecting that Mini to be THAT quick. It pulled on the Type R like it was standing still.

I30N first race: I skipped a gear, 2nd race: I skipped the accelerator 😂😂

The Mini should've been replaced by the Megane Rs to complete the manual line up

That Mini took me by surprise. I knew my favourite(i30N) was not going to win, but I certainly did not expect it to be last. I am gutted. Bearing in mind I raced a motorbike up the motorway and I kept up with it(was a 650).

The i30 driver is that guy who takes like 10+ seconds to get going after the traffic light turns green.

Based on the radio chatting, I'm pretty sure the other cars are just driven by clones of the same one person...

I just came home with a 2021 Mini GP and it wasn’t cheap. I got it for $44,800. The thing drives like a beast!

I know it's just the radio but all the other drivers sound exactly the same 😂

Mini sounded really well even with soft limiter. Focus actually have 2.3 engine not 2.0. Should be similar to Mustangs and Focus RS 2.3

Somewhat of a Honda fan but love the GP not only it looks good with the help of that wing but also pretty quick with the help of that robot shifting the gears.

Loved my old Focus ST-3 back in 2007 with the few engine mods to it's 2.5L power plant. It was a heavy beast of a car. Still prefer the old shape and split exhaust than the ST today. Glad Ford is still running with it alongside the RS version.

More drag races with 180-300 hp cars

I’ve got a Mini GP and the thing is hilarious. I’m sure the torque is restricted until 3rd gear because it suddenly takes off like a scalded cat. Fast like no mini ever before and goes round corners like a go kart. Bit bumpy but that’s the price you pay for such astonishing grip. Great way to put a smile on your face.

it'd be nice watching something like this with people that knew how to drive.

Having owned a Type R I can say it is a hard car to launch well and can be somewhat tricky to change gears from 1st to 2nd and even 2nd to 3rd. With that being said it should have been closer to the mini when driven to it's potential. Hard to get accurate results when you have drivers unfamiliar with a specific car's manual versus a Dual Clutch where all you have to do is apply gas.

Mini GP3 vs Golf R would be interesting

If you like straight-line performance, the mini is definitely the best. It is also among the fastest fwd hot hatch, tied with the Meganne RS depending on data, but the Civic Type R however, is a lot better on the corners, it is said to feel more 'fun' on track, while also putting out faster lap times. They are honestly both brilliant cars tho. The B48 also has good tuning potential!

As a mazdaspeed3 owner, id also like to see more classic drag races that aren’t new new cars. For example a subaru wrx vs ST vs mazdaspeed vs a mustang gt or something like that. because at the end of the day these are the cars that i’d say a fairly large chunk of your audience is driving or thinking of owning

U can do the CVT comparison between the hatches with CVT, it would be interesting to watch!

Had a Mini JCW manual which was quick but on drag strip my slower auto Cooper S Countryman was 1 sec quicker! That Mini auto box is incredible!

Ok, we have to talk about that hyndai “driver”

FYI the B48 bmw engine in the Mini claims 301 hp but it dynos 285-290 whp and actually makes closer to 330 bhp and it only weighs 2700 lbs. BMW performance engines actually are very underrated. That B48 also has the forged internals from the B58 M240 and Supra 3.0, minus 2 cylinders, plus a bigger turbo than the lower trim B48s. Research goes a long way! B48s are starting to get mods and they're making 350+ whp from a downpipe and tune only. I know because my B48 is a development car going through custom tunes with Bm3 before the OTS maps are released.
