Just ordered a McClellan saddle, already have a wool blanket (I wear it as a cloak for old norse/similar costuming), thanks for the lesson on how to fold it properly!

I rode McLellan while training horseback archery and just wanted to learn amore before buying myself such saddle. Now I want to get all the gear and go for a few days trails to see how it really works :)

One question for y’all with experience....how do you clean the saddle blanket? The tag says dry clean only....I prefer to not risk getting those chemicals on my horse. Hi. Is that blanlet the Woolrich Cavalry blanket? If so, how do you enjoy it? Is it good for sleeping outside without a fire? is it fairly windproof?
