As soon as I saw this in my sub box I was so amazingly excited! I was always sad to see no civ gameplay before even though you'd mentioned it occasionally, especially after stellaris. Glad to see this being a series, and looking forward to the rest of it!

The whole continents being on the same land mass was a change they made partly because of the number of civs that have bonuses that work based on continents (to prevent them from being useless on maps like Pangea). The rational behind it is that they are kind of like real life continents. For example, Europe and Asia are the same land mass but we consider them different continents :)

Far as I can tell, Wales, Scotland, and North Ireland do not exist in Civ England. There don't appear to be any Welsh or Scottish themed units, and all the city names are places in England proper.

My mistake. I looked through the nameless on the wiki to confirm. Civ V has one Welsh given name, and Mumbles is a place. Still, it seems predominantly just England.

The map alone sold me the game, it's beautiful. Also 18:50 Was actually incredibly well pronounced for an english speaker lol (though I suppose Welsh has most phonems that english lacks so you got that covered XD)

Great series! Also, amenities are global, but limited. They are shared between cities that need them the most, then the extra are applied as a bonus to the biggest cities.

A good thing to keep in mind also is barbarians never passively heal, so a good tactic can be to strike a barbarian camp, let your unit heal, hit again, and rinse and repeat till you can wear it down, also a sound que happens every time a barbarian camp spawns in an area you have previously scouted, when you hear the audio que, you can look around on the fog of war to spot the new camp location.

Really looking forward to a Civilization VI series. I also have to agree about AI in games - increased difficulty should have more nuanced AI rather than just better stats/resources. I wish as much time and effort was spent on developing characterful AI as it is on pretty graphics.

I've had civilization 1 since it first came out. I have mastered it quickly, and would like to move on. Now that I have the money, being an adult finally, which would you suggest starting with civ 2 or jump to the newest?

two things to note aavak! firstly, you only need one of any luxury/strategic resource and it can be used by up to 4 of your cities. The second is that the ai controlled civs have traits, one that always stays the same and one that is randomly assigned, the ones that are always the same for china, sparta, and brazil are they dilike people that build wonders, they dislike people who aren't at war, and they dont like people with great people respectivly. id suggest a VERY large military for this game

Luxury resources: Each unique one will give 1 amenity to a maximum of 4 citys, chosen to priorities the city with the lowest happiness. Each copy of the resource after the first has no effect but is good for trading, all luxury resources are equil in the above. Bonus Resources: Provide a resource benefit to a tile, for example, a resource of rice might provide +1 food, or copper +1 gold, some bonus resources are better than others

They've added Ambiorix for the Gaelic civilization and Robert the Bruce for the Scottish Civilization. Edit: Black Broth is a traditional Spartan soup made of boiled pigs legs, blood, salt and vinegar. It's thought that the vinegar was to keep the blood from clotting while it cooked. The Spartan army ate it as part of their diet.

Bonus resources improve some aspect of a tile, like its food or production value. Luxury resources are used as amenities and also affect gold value of a tile.

Also, you can set units to autoexplore by clicking the plus sign above their unit window and clicking Auto Explore.

Aavak, luxseries each gives you 1 amenity in 4 cities, the game will automatically distribute them to the cities that needs them the most (but having 2 copies of the same luxury don't give you any benefit other than the ability to trade one of them with other civs)

Aavak, I´m not sure what your preference is, but i do find that slow movement of units gets tedious after some time, slow combat however I do find it a bit more tolerable until you get bombers. Can you consider changing it for the following episodes ?
