IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ😉 2 things: There’s a line of text in Italian in the beginning that gives more context to the MV: “Nel mezzo del cammin di nostra vita mi ritrovai per una selva oscura, ché la diritta via era smarrita.” This is the first line in the Canto Inferno of Dante’s Inferno. It means: “When I had journeyed half of our life's way, I found myself within a shadowed forest, for I had lost the path that does not stray.” The lyrics and the MV really follow that context and I love how they included it so subtlety. Some context/explanation of the quote: The use of “journey” and “right road” signifies the religious aspect of Dante’s adventure and notifies us that we are leaving the realm of the literal. Likewise, the image of being lost in “dark woods” sets up a clear dichotomy between the unenlightened ignorance involved in a lack of faith in God and the clear radiance provided by God’s love. The simple contrast between the “dark woods,” which embody Dante’s fear, and the “right road,” which embodies Dante’s confidence in God, makes his challenge clear-he sets out to look for God in a sinful world. I’m pretty sure this MV has lots of scenes that show the boys in what could be hell, we see Dante’s Doors as well which gives more hints to where they are. The whole song revolving around the submission to desire and “forbidden” or “sacrilegious” attraction that is burrowing inside them. It’s about how they’re led astray from the “path” by this desire and submit to the darkness. Idk if this is necessarily an introduction of a possible story arc ( I don’t believe so, but I could be wrong) but it was very well made and well thought out. CIX pulled out the big guns this MV and it’s got me jittery with excitement!!!😆😆😆 I hope my comment was of help!
