Problem is with all the DLC's added since this was made some of the basic stuff has changed. While most of the concepts are still very useful, the series could use an update.

Completely agree. I'm new to the game so I'm still learning how it works, but it's already clear to me that technology is useful because of those buildings. In the Lombardy campaign I'm doing right now, buildings have made a significant difference to the size of my army, which was weak for a while but has gradually become one of the strongest in the HRE. Which is important in my case because I'm quite constrained because of the kaiser implementing the medium crown authority law, which prevents me from expanding by force against other vassals within the empire. I have to improve what I have, without being able to take really anything from other nobles. I'm trying to get to where I can break out of the empire and become an independent state, and these building improvements and the increased levy sizes are part of how I'm getting to that point, by enabling me to rebel against the kaiser and actually win. I did much better in my latest rebellion against the empire because of this (the war ended inconclusively due to the rebel leader dying of old age, but we had a real shot at winning, and we probably will the next time). So yeah, technology can make a difference.

Maybe brass? Although I think that was more valuable...

There's not much you can do, you can send her a gift to make her happier, and there will be some events that can fire where you can increase her opinion of you, but unless someone starts a kill plot against you it likely won't matter.

Same here, I started playing it do to this free weekend, now I'm addicted, but after many mistakes were made I realized that I didn't actually know how to play this game. So I found this series, and it's pretty helpfull.

Agreed, the tutorial scenario is pretty lame.

Peter McEwen IMO tutorials in all the paradox games I've played are pretty awful. They teach you some of the mechanics, but not neccesarily the most important ones, and they are not good at explaining why the mechanic is important

Dylan Sargesson Just found the option 'draw_citysprawl' on the file settings.txt. Don't know if it's what you're talking about, but it worked. Thank you for the help.

This is basically his full-time job, so theoretically he has 6-8 hours every day to record, and 12 videos of roughly 18 mins each = 216 mins or 3 and a half hours (per day). So he has at least a few hours to do other things like stream every day. (Note that this doesn't include audio balancing, uploading, rendering, etc. Didn't include editing in that list since Arumba doesn't edit lol :P)

The number representing his opinion was probably just not updated and when the month had gone by it updated. Paradox games tend to do these things where it takes some time until everything is loaded up properly.

Imagine a world with very few books, no internet and almost nobody was educated. That is the world of ck2. Knowledge is time consuming to spread, one place might have the documentation and knowledge of how to build walls a certain way but another doesnt. Now I imagine your next question is "why dont they share the knowledge". The people of the times response would be "why should we?". This was very much a time in human history where competition and not co-operation ruled the day. Having an advantage was a big deal, and things that take us hours or days to do took them months and years.

PotatoMcWhiskey U know that point, and that it can be applied to techs like Infrustructures or Shipbuilding, but doesnt make to much sense with Legalism, or that specific tech applies to all the Kingdom and not just to each province?

Think of Legalism as how well developed the justice system is developed in that province.

It is a relevant game concept still. Do you remember those smaller holdings within the county Arumba talked about in the part 2? The thing is, when he sieged up and conquered the *main* holding of the county, the others (a bishopric and a city in this case) remained free from occupation and the opponent could still gather liege levys & taxes from those. That's why the occupation stripes appearing over the county were broken. So it wasn't the same place he had sieged already. Only when he stormed *all* the holdings in the county were the stripes connected. Each occupied holding gives more war score, so it is recommendable. I hope this helps :P

When I first played I sieged the main holding, thought I won and moved off. I waited half an hour and wondered why I wasn’t firing a victory screen or why the opponent hadn’t surrendered.. dont do what I did!
