Claas Markant 65 and Ford 6610 Baling Hay

The 1986 6610 out with the Claas Markant 65 baler baling 3 acres of hay in a horse pasture for a customer. The smaller, classic equipment means we can get into hard-access fields where many larger operations can not which gives us more business.

I got to use a little baler on thursday for the 1st time normally my dad does it.I can definitely see why people like its probably my favourite job now

That tractor needs bigger and wider tyres on the front and rear to make it an awesome tractor. It looks a bit sad on those skinny ones. Nice baler too. Top video!

front tyres will be staying the same size but i do intend to get wider rears

So I have a few questions, is there sensors telling you when you are out of bailing twine? Or do you just realize you are out when the bale falls apart when it hits the ground? When that happens do you just spread the bale back out and drive over it again?

No sensor, in the back of the baler there is roughly 8-10 big balls of string (a few thousand bales worth at least) which automatically feed off each other when they run out in order, we try to keep the compartmant full so we don't run out but when/if it does the baler will just throw out a wad of hay which we then either spread out into the next row or kick it about and go over it last.

I'm thinking of buying a claas baler is there any claas baler I should stay away from or what would you recommend I will be using a fordson major to drive her?

claas are a fantastic baler, we made 5000 bales this year and only missed 1
