Clacking Valves? Change the Felt

If your valves are loud, you may need to take them apart and replace the felt. Here's how to do it, and how to put it back together in the right order.

yes, true. I did warn about scratching them and recommended that if there is any problem, take it to a repair expert. But yes, anybody reading the comments: take special care with the valves because if you screw them up the entire horn might be ruined. Be careful..Thanks, Mr. Veinemeinen

Thank-you for the video. I was wondering what was 'clacking' when pressing keys. I now have ordered new felt washers...hope this will solve the noise! My 1956 Olds Ambassador hopefully will appreciate the new pads.

How do you change the top cap felts?

Good question. I've never done it. I'd assume just peel them out of there? Mine are rubber.

You forgot to say,that it's risky to change anything on valves, if you don't know what you're doing,because Its so easy to damage the valve alignment.
