Armour Empire I would love to see a show taking place over an airfield where you get to see the planes take off and land as well.. but I haven't been able to see that since they stopped the Fly Ins at the old Boxted Air Field around the corner.. :) Sorry for late reply..

qdc748a Yes, I'm very happy that I was able to see the two Lans flying together, as I never thought I would get to see the Canadian Lancaster, let alone seeing them both flying together.. :) The Clacton Air Show is the only air show on the east coast of England now, and it is getting better year on year, after a spell of not showing much at all.. I do miss seeing things like the Harrier jump jet though, but as the RAF and Royal Navy no longer fly them, I guess I'll never see one flying again.. :P Sorry for late reply..

Hamilkar Barkas I read in the paper today that the two Lancasters did a fly by over the memorial around the corner, dedicated to a Canadian Lancaster crew that crashed just outside Boxted Airfield.. they had been shot at by a Luftwaffe nightfighter who had followed the returning Lancaster, and set it on fire.. sadly the plane crashed short of the runway and the crew did not survive. A great dedication, considering one of the Lancs flying is Canadian.. and also, it meant I could have seen them from my bedroom window,.. :) Got to see them and the Typhoon again today, the Typhoon did a much better display than yesterday and even set off all the car alarms in the nearby car park!! :) I got so inspired I popped back into the hobby shop on the way home and picked up the 'new tool' Revell 1/144 Typhoon kit.. Yesterday before the show I treated myself to the Tamiya 1/48 P-51 B Mustang, and today (before the show) I bought the Airfix 1/48 Spitfire PR.XIX.. which I will make in RAF colours most likely, not Swedish.. Saw 2 different Spitfire PR.XIX's at the show, always a pleasure.. Didn't bother filming much today though, I just enjoyed the flying.. :)

foodquig Yes.. almost an incident.. :) Never thought I'd ever get to see the Canadian Lancaster, but there it was.. flying almost on my home turf!! What an absolute treat!! And I got to see it and the Battle of Britain Lancaster together again today.. simply beautiful!! :)

badgrendels Thank you.. seeing the two Lancasters together was very special, once the Canadian Lancaster returns home to Canada next month the chance of seeing two together again will be very remote and highly unlikely.. and the Vulcan is of'course always a treat!! :)

Rob BasicModelling I bet it is! (the Vulcan) And the lancasters are very nice. I didn't know that there were only two of them flying.

badgrendels Rumour has it there will be three Lancasters flying before too long,.... but that's yet to be seen.. :) And no, the pilot flying the Vulcan has not got pointed ears.. just saying! :)
