This was a great station to visit during the early years when they used this station as terminus station on the virgin crosscountry routes. The filming of this video was done during early December 2001.

At last... me on 47831, my old favourite Bolton Wanderer @ 2:06. The best 47/8 there was, & she's pretty good as 57310 to! Superb video of ye olde days. Excellent 👍🏻

Filming and our own bits photos and other memberbelia and say yeah I do miss so much .but we still head the linesides and platforms ....cos it's a drug

Used to work 47 and stock when I was a guard. Oh the noise as they attacked the Lickey. I would sit in the brake van with the door oped positively drooling.....

@@antman09ful1 Indeed, I wasn't implying anything, just I once got booted out of a 47 group for calling them "Duffs" as that was what I was brought up with. I like pretty much anything BR era, I adore 47s, 37s are nice to look at, sound great and are fun to drive, 31s have a nice look and sound etc... :) I can't wait to see what else you've got stashed away :)

Brighton bourmouth and poole all services have gone along with the 47s and the 47 5 o'clock stopper calling at lea hall and Marston green on its way to either Brighton or Paddington

@@antman09ful1 yeh I will find the old timetable the train waited in Stafford sidings all day then ran Stafford wolves Birmingham new street lea hall Marston green Birmingham international Coventry think it was in 1988 or 89 the service ran to either Paddington or Brighton. we also had a dmu shortage in the 80s and there was an evening loco hauled class 45 3 mk1s ran for about a week from moor street to dorridge calling bordersley green small heath tysley acocks green olton solihull widney mannor dorridge then return rush hour only think a 47 ran last few days I lived in between olton and Marston green so spent me childhood on a 75 p scratch off daytripper also many people don't know why the bridge at the end of dorridge doesn't have arches it because a class 52 ran in to the back of a shunter on the main line killing the driver also the service was supposed to be a blue pullman but a western was brought in late on quite an interesting history we have on our local railways

@@antman09ful1 i don't live local no more but you must no jed if you do ask him about the 47 lea hall Marston green service he was on it most nights winter only timetable sure it was 88 89 its an old school spotter you need to speak with and if you know mad Mark from nuneaton he will give you all the unusual services that ran around the west midlands is best mate was a railway planner around Birmingham i no these guys are still around because I seen them at midlands railway diesel gala last year
