I’ve liked the art of The Miko since Raiders of the North Sea. I ended up with a few more games with his art: Viral and City of Spies. Really good games also.

According to Zee's BBG collection, he rated Claim as 7.5 and Fox in the Forest as 8 so I'm guessing he would choose Fox in the Forest over Claim.

Nadine Grech Thanks for looking that up. From watching the reviews, I would have expected that Zee preferred Claim, or ranked them the same at least.

5 years late For me Claim seems to be more random/chaotic with less control and more difficulty of memorization with that deck. The win could be decided in the first phase depending on what cards everyone got and the second phase would just be there to prove it. Fox in the forest has 3 suits, easier to remember played cards, it's important to decide to win or lose the trick since one point difference can make a huge difference. Both games are great but imo fox in the forest is slightly better imo, not to mention easier to teach.

“Fun” is in the eye of the beholder. So what is “fun” to you in the context of a trick taking card game?

One of them you get to choose the cards you play and the other is War.

In War you just randomly use whatever card at the top of your deck.

It's a mediocre game with potentially a great mechanism. The first phase is a bit too random and the second phase is too solvable. Also the artworks on some cards are unpleasant to look at (especially the goblins with pimples).
