Good riddance. They fired Mansell before he won the championship for them. They renegged the contract with Prost which made him retire after he won the championship for them They fired Hill after he won the championship for them. They fired Villeneuve after he won the championship for them. And that's leaving our what they did to Senna. I hate this team. Goodbye and don't come back.

Interesting how some can voice their opinions about other people without a care, without having any knowledge whatsoever of directing any team of any sort nor the inner workings of Williams, of which she was Deputy principal. Williams, unlike others, made every single part. She kept it all going

She had her dad to consult and still couldn't get it to work, yeah, but I still think it's also funny how a lot of people who can't keep their own lives together, let alone a team, can judge so easily. The funniest thing is that both of them, in 2021, are executing what they promised. Latifi and George scored in Hungary and, today, Latifi had a P12, and George a P2, outmatching all the grid, except Verstappen. Hope Williams is in the brink of a new rise, just like happened with McLaren.

People who treated Williams like a joke are morons. Williams Racing are the third most successful team in F1 history. Add that to the fact that they are a privateer team and it makes their accomplishments even more impressive. Let's not forget the technological marvels Williams brought into F1, the iconic moments their cars are featured in, the drivers that have been with the team, who won races, championships, set records, broken records and the engineering staff who cut their teeth under Frank and Patrick. Williams deserves respect for what they have done in F1, not derision. So to all the people who have taken the piss out of this iconic team, I ask you. How many F1 championships have you won?

Frank Williams once said that Formula 1 would be nothing more but a bunch of good memories and I think ironically that moment has come with the team being sold to some guys in the U.S. In general, Formula 1 is dead, histerically boring and not financially sustainable. The future is here and it gets even darker with the farewell of a legend. Frank Williams came out of nothing and achieving something like having heroes like Ayrton Senna in his team is just something you don't see everyday. To see his legacy fading away in sport and financial struggle is just heartbreaking. 💔

My childhood fascination with F1 was built watching Williams and McLaren dominate in the late 80s to the late 90s. I got my passion for the sport from my Dad, who sadly passed away this year. So, as I said goodbye to him, I say goodbye to the Williams family, who helped bring me so much joy in watching F1 as a boy. I remember getting up at 2am as a 12 year old to watch the Australian Grand Prix in 1994 to see if Damon Hill could win the title, then being absolutely distraught when Schumacher crashed into him, then celebrating Hill's title triumph two years later. Great times. Thank you, Sir Frank and Claire and the Williams family.

Thanks for that, you made me cry *again!* I just held it back on Sunday, watching Pierre and Carlos cross the line (just how do you choose between them?!!! They both deserved it!), I was exhausted just from the ups and downs of the race, but when they played George and Nicholas's radio messages, I was done for. I've got through about half a big box of tissues since Saturday (thanks to Channel 4's lovely tribute), and I'm still looking at this screen with watery eyes. Going to miss Claire a lot - she's done a terrific job under very trying circumstances, with armchair know-it-alls being rotten to her and the team. Going to miss Frank turning up at the races he could reasonably attend. I do hope they come back and visit when possible, especially the British GP. It should be made illegal for Williams to appear there without a family member representing the incredible history. As a team fan since the beginning of the "real" entry at the end of the 70s, this really is the end of a major part of my life too, and one I wouldn't give up for anything. Thank you, to all the Williams family for the many sacrifices you made and the joy you spread. Thank you for standing up for independent teams, demonstrating what it is to do it all yourselves. Hopefully there will be more manufacturers entering, to give a wider variety of engines for the whole (hopefully larger) grid, but hopefully too that will lead to new teams, or current F2/3 teams wanting to follow in your footsteps and be independent winners. And as an aforementioned armchair "expert" (just kidding, I know my limitations stop once I leave the chair ;)), I'd love to see Leena Gade in F1, particularly at Williams. She's one of the greatest engineers around (ask Tom Kristensen or Alan McNish what they, and the rest of the WEC grid think of her. She's thoroughly missed by the fans) and I'd make a sizeable bet that she'd be epic in a top engineering post at Williams. We've lost our most important woman in F1, she'd be a worthy successor.

@@Marc98338 she's not in fault. A team wins and loses together. You can blame the aerodynamic people, or the drivers, or the sponsors, or not having enough money, or the team principal, or the team deputy, or the team owner, or the technical director. They're all at blame, not just Claire. She did her best and put some great names into the team and they all failed. One of them was Paddy who literally came into Williams after winning dominating titles with Mercedes. How can you blame Claire for that? Just because she's the one that hired him? I started watching F1 in 1991, while Williams' Nigel Mansell (of whom I became a big fan) was fighting for the title with his FW14 againt McLaren's Ayrton Senma. Next came "il Leone" 's title with the legendary FW14B, "le professeur" (Alain Prost) in 1993. Sadly, 1994 came with Ratzenberger's and Williams' Senna's death, but Hill has been fighting for the title while Coulthard and Mansell were supporting him; and achieved the constructor's championship. Then came the last 2 titles for Williams in 1996 (Damon Hill) and 1997 (Jacques Villeneuve). Nevertheless, I was still behind Williams when they teamed up with BMW and Juan Pablo Montoya was doing a great job... Nowadays it turns out that Villeneuve was the last champion, Maldonado the last winner and Kubica the last scorer before the Williams family said goodbye. Long live to the Williams team!
