Omg Claire I have to admit the first half of the video I don’t think I have ever seen a messier disaster in all my life and I caught myself thinking ‘she’s definitely not going to come back from this, what a mess!!’ Hahaha but sure enough you turned disaster into gold!! That filling in the holes afterwards is genius!! Bye bye holes!! And I love your saying ‘made with love not perfection!’ That needs to go on a tshirt!!! I love that! Once again babe you surprised me with how good these turned out!

I am so happy I watched this, I am planning on making a side table but have been pulling my hair out thinking about the massive air pockets that I won't be able to fill but now I can. Those pieces are amazing 😍

ohhhhh I also have a table mould not used it yet but that would definitely work :) if you keep the background colour - a colour that can easily be matched it will be amazing xx

Love this method it’s so much easier and quicker 🙌 the the traditional way and to fill the holes I use a little paint brush to dab in more Jesmonite to the holes and sand again works a treat ❤

@@ClairesCraftyCorner I can't remember the floors but we had a funny sort of deep green sofa! Or was that my aunty that had that? Haha I remember a hole in a floor board under where the door shut on my brothers room, and he stashed things under there! I often wonder if people who lived there after us kept that or replaced it? Memories, aren't they great things?!

HI Claire, Loved your coasters you had a really helpful tip from the Ladies Well done Ladies 👍 Claire, Instead Of the sealer you used Could you seal them with resin ? 👍❤️ Lin
@ClairesCraftyCorner
@ClairesCraftyCorner 2 жыл бұрын
heyyyy Linda .. yes you can use Resin I just wasnt sure if the resin would truly fill the holes. After this of course, Jesmonite is heat proof up to a seriously high temp. Resin is not .. so if you wanted to use them for hot drinks you would have to be sure that your resin is heat proof. xx

If you ran into a situation where there were so many holes that using a single color to fill them in would overpower the piece, do you think you could use clear resin instead?
@ClairesCraftyCorner
@ClairesCraftyCorner 2 жыл бұрын
heyyyy Micah .. I think if that happened I would just use the backing colour so they were not so noticable at all x failing this .. you could use Resin but this would throw up other issues like the heatproof nature of the resin and if you wanted an Eco product then Resin would not be viable. However Resin is a possibility yes I am also not sure if the holes would still be visible or utterly disguised.x
