Lana's lines betray the false premise of the writers though: In order to truly know someone you must be exactly like them-If you love a fireman, then you can't truly know them until you become a fireman too and do exactly what they do. You KNOW someone because you know their character, not because you experience their exact same level of prowess, profession, or power. Lana never needed to become a superhero in order to know Clark.
