Quitting is not giving up when you're quitting because another path is better for you. I started watching your channel because of your job, but I stayed because of your personality and who you are. I will be a viewer for as long as you keep making content. I'm proud of you for prioritizing yourself, Clancy!

Clancy you have to realize that those people who complained to your boss about your you tube channel saw your talent and it scared them. They were jealous at how good you were and how much the public likes you. Hope you find something that makes you happy and you can use your talents better. Anxiety is horrible. I have battled it for the last few years for the first time in my 71 years. Can hardly wait to see your future. YOU GO GIRL!!!

I always see nurses so overworked! It’s easier in the early stages of career, but I keep telling my nursing friends they should look into cosmetics or try and get a position at a 9-5 GP office, you can see it on their faces and in the energy they have to live any normal life. Obviously someone has to do the job, but it’s just so hard to watch.

Although we’re in totally different careers, I’ve been in your shoes girl! Two years ago I quit an amazing job with no back-up plan because I was truly burned out and depressed! It was so scary at the time and like you, I was sweating every night along with waking up shaking! Listening to you share how you felt and how supportive Zack was/is, reminded me of myself and my hubby. I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and learning to separate our identities from work is a huge milestone in life! We’re socialized from a young age to put our worth in our work, but the truth is we’re so much more than than our jobs! We are valuable regardless if we’re employed or not! Plus, over time we evolve/grow (like we’re supposed to!) and a job may not suit us anymore and that’s okay! I had to work with a coach to be able to recognize that! A quote that got me through that tough time that I’d love to share with you is, “Not all storms come to disrupt your life, some come to clear your path” -Paulo Coelho. Have faith in the universe ❤️ it has your back!

Clancy, though we've never met, you have had such a major impact on my life and as a fellow TV reporter in Ohio, I'm seriously inspired and encouraged by all that you've done. Growing up in Ohio but having worked in the entertainment industry in LA for 10+ years, I really didn't think I was truly cut out for news. That was until one day I stumbled upon your channel and thought - wow, there are so many styles of news and this reporter uses her PERSONALITY. I got a job as a morning reporter back in Toledo where I loved it but was also struggling with my health. I reached out to you and I remember you saying - health above all!! along with some helpful tips. I ended up landing a dayside reporter job in Columbus and it really has felt like such a great next step. Fascinating where life brings us and stoked to see where ya'll land next. Thank you for putting yourself out there even on the hard days, I can't imagine continuing KZfaq after getting so many comments from work, talk about bravery! (still trying to balance and figure out my voice on here among the multiple personas it feels like we have in news!) If ya'll are ever in Cbus, I'll take ya out for a drink! That feeling you had leaving your managers office after people were talking negatively about you behind your back happened to be a couple times while working in corporate finance and it really rocked me too. The anxiety I felt was so overwhelming and I feel like once people see they can shake you and get away with it they sometimes don’t stop. It’s one of the reasons I left corporate finance, opened my own firm, and now I make videos on my channel trying to make finance more approachable and simple.

Former tv reporter from Australia here and this video resonated with me so much! I quit my job in April after struggling with anxiety - panic attacks, night sweats, thinking of ways I could hurt myself or make myself sick so I didn’t have to go into work. What’s strange is I was amazing at my job and was told I was one of the best in the company but ultimately my mental health plummeted and it was so isolating. The universe was looking out for me though and now I’ve accepted a new role with less responsibilities (yay) closer to family. Proud of you for taking a step back and spreading awareness, especially in an industry that can be so consumed with pride and egos.

Clancy, I just wanted to say I’ve been watching you since you were in college, and I actually just graduated college. You inspired me to major in Journalism and I was broadcast focused but realized it wasn’t for me and you helped me realize this. You are so awesome for following your own path. You are so inspiring and I wish you the best.

I LOVE this video! So relatable! I feel it in my stomach when you say how you’re a type A person and not taking the “linear path” to life is gut wrenching and scary to you! I’ve been feeling like this lately about my job as a teacher! It’s soo hard to let yourself feel these type of feelings, especially when it’s about something you do love doing! Can’t wait to see what’s next!

Hey Clancy! I totally feel your pain. It takes a lot to step away from something you know is not serving you. Just know that so many of your subscribers are so proud of you for making such a tough decision. I used to be a breaking news reporter (which was mostly a courts & crime beat) and it KILLED me. I was young in my career and eager to prove but I was completely burned out. I almost quit journalism for good. It took much-needed rest, therapy, and rethinking of a few life goals but I was able to recover. I learned a lot. SO MUCH. But one of the most important lessons was that you are a HUMAN before a journalist. It's okay to put yourself first. It's alright to want to have a life outside of your career. It's absolutely fine to change your mind. A gentle reminder: while the behind-the-scenes news content was fun, we came for YOU and your personality. Can't wait to see what's next for you. Congrats on this major life change!

Clancy, just because you’re quitting, doesn’t mean you fail! You are moving on and that’s okay! I also wanted to say thank you so much for posting this video. I have been dealing with this decision myself for quite some time. I spent 4 years of college obtaining my BA in music and now am a music teacher. It can be very hard and draining sometimes, but I have also wanted to try something different since I have also had bad anxiety recently… so let’s see what happens!!! Thank you for always being so genuine in your videos and inspiring people every day! You truly inspire me and put a smile on my face every time I watch your videos! Continue to follow your heart! ❤️

Good on you for looking after yourself!! Just follow your gut/intuition and it’ll never lead you astray. I did 1:30am wake ups for 5.5 years when I worked for an airline (not every day but more often than not) and it’s bloody tough and I emphasise with you. It’s not easy at all and it’s so unbelievably tolling - not only on yourself, mental health, social life but also it’s hard on your family and friends because you’re just so tired, need sleep and often bail on outings. When I swapped to “normal” hours, I was shocked out how much my health improved and I realised how shockingly tired and drained I was. I’m really looking forward to seeing what’s next for you and I truly believe that whatever path you choose to take you’ll absolutely smash it. All the best Clancy!! P.S. I plan to keep watching whatever you choose to do :)

So happy for you Clancy! Journalism is a very mentally and physically grating field of work (despite the good parts) and I feel that people don't realise that side of it sometimes - I definitely underestimated it myself. Quitting being a reporter was one of the best things I've ever done. Wishing you all the best here from the UK! ❤️

Congratulations on being able to make this decision Clancy! Quitting you're job is surely not an easy decision but it really is the only way you're going to get to know yourself without the crazy schedule. Also, it's really nice that you were so honest about the struggles that you had, sometimes things on youtube come across as all fun and games but at the end of the day everyone goes through rough things at school/work and it's nice for people not to feel alone in that sense. Wish you the best of luck, can't wait to see what's next for you and Zac!

Clancy!! I’m so happy for you. Watching this video was very validating for me. 2 years ago, I quit my stressful job and decided to go back to school. It was to the point where I literally had chest pressure and trouble breathing, only for the doctor to tell me with was as a result of anxiety and stress. Stress takes a bigger toll on the body than we think. Thank you for always being you and I can’t wait to see where life takes you!! 💕

I’m actually so proud of you for doing this and with me wanting to become a future journalist myself I don’t look at you any differently. I went through the same experience last yr and recently with quitting my jobs because my body and mental health couldn’t handle it. Mental health has definitely become a hot topic in last couple yrs and I’m happy more people are taking advantage of it. I was told before “Work your job, don’t let your job work you” that has stuck with me so much because it’s like you mentioned your job is not your identity. Good luck on your future goals! I wish you nothing but the best!❤️
