Clannad is that kind of anime that words aren't enough to describe it, many times I told my friends to watch it and they say "tell me about it" and I always get speechless after that because there's no way to describe it other than "you have to watch it, you have to feel it". This is not an anime with a masterpiece plot like Code Geass, Death Note or Steins;Gate, this is not an action anime with epic fights like Fate series or Gurren Laggan, this is simply a slice of life anime that has so much reality in it that it just blows on you. Clannad is just one of a kind.
@RandomHelpingGuy9 жыл бұрын
It's funny, actually. My sister asked me to tell her about Clannad, and I told her the same thing. Clannad made me more emotional than I have ever been. I never thought I could cry so much. Once I finished it, I had every feeling come at me at once, and I cried for hours. Sure, there's a whole lot of comedy too, but the sad parts are overwhelming and almost unbearable. And the soundtrack was the icing on the cake, in my view.
@tetraforcetheory97179 жыл бұрын
+-ZET-I have people tell me they won't watch it because it is a romance anime, but as a 17 year old guy I still wanted to watch it from recommendations. Let me say, I cried, I cried like a bitch and i'm proud of it. Saddest moment in the show. I believe it is sadder than "SPOILERS" Nagisa's death because though she was his wife and best friend, the one thing left of her and their truest bond died in his arms. Ushio, why you make me have the feels T-T.
@ZETxZ49 жыл бұрын
Tetraforce Theory Funny thing is, I love romance, but I didn't feel that Clannad had romance, it was more like 40%slice of life and 60% drama, sure there's the whole TomoyaxNagisa thing but still didn't saw it as romance for some reason. I didn't cried watching it but I wish I did just for the respect that I have for this show. The scene tha really shocked me was this kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oatja7Z8t7qYkZ8.html I wached this scene again 2weeks ago and still feel the emotion on it even 4years after I completed Clannad.

This anime is a life changer. It's really hard to describe using words. There's really nothing like it. You have to experience it for yourself to understand the feelings and emotions. So much passion in the scenes. I don't know what inspired the writer of this anime to write something like Clannad, but that son of a gun is my hero. I feel like the writer poured their heart and soul into every sentence, word, letter, etc. This anime is a masterpiece. It is one of the first ones I watched, and forever will be my favourite. I will never ever forget this anime as long as I live. You cannot watch this anime without crying. It's literally impossible.

Not sure if anyone would read this since the video is very old and not many visitors, but I noticed this song was used durring season one. What was once a mysterious song with a sense of nostalgia, is now haunting and mostly known as Ushio’s last scene. It’s tragic. Clannad IS tragic. Of course it has a happy ending, but not until it breaks you, it makes you think how important family is, whether you’re related to them, or people you built relationships over time, family is the common theme. Something most of these characters all treasure in their own way, and something Tomoya learned to treasure as well as the series goes on.
@animelife52483 жыл бұрын
Well glad you commented cause i happened to read it and yeah the family theme is the core of this entire story and yeah clannad does break you badly, this is a true masterpieces!!! And yeah this plays during ushios death and thats when I started to search for this ost!

Rui ruii I was overjoyed when I saw that, he truly deserved it. I've heard a saying in my time. (I say in my time, I'm only 14). It goes as follows: "Things have to get worse before they can get better.", and I guess that applied to Tomoya.
@ruiruii969 жыл бұрын
***** Hoesntly I would have accepted that alternate ending too if Clannad AS ended at episode 21. To me, it gives off a more realistic, emotional ending and shows that really, anything can happen in life, and sometimes the worse can happen and you will never get your loved ones back, unlike the "good" ending in episode 22. I would have accepted both endings, although if AS ends at episode 21, I will cry a lot. Like really a lot. ;_;

I think the reason I cried more for Ushio than Nagisa was actually this song. If my memory is accurate the cheerful dango melody played when nagisa died. But this song... my god... I cry judt hearing it, even a year after watching the series. It's so beautiful, so sad... it fit so perfectly with the scene, an absolute masterpiece.

This entire show made me want to fix my relationship with my parents. Especially my dad, I started to appreciate my dad more since I had similarities to Tomoya's life. To clarify, I had a bit of a rocky relationship with my parents. I was entitled and narcissistic and always thought they wronged me when I didn’t get my way and I would always get into petty arguments with my parents. Sometimes it was their fault, most of the time it was mine. Then that scene where Tomoya remembers everything that his father did for him as a kid got me thinking about my family.

I think one of the reasons that I try to recommend this anime so much is because I had a similar relationship with my dad. The character development in this anime is in a league of its own.

SPOILER Yea I found the part where he went back to talk with his dad at the end to hit the hardest because it hit so close to home since I've become distance with my family especially my dad. I've known him since I was young and still feel like a stranger.

Clannad is truly special. There are plenty of things out there that give me "the feels", etc. But Clannad is one of the very few of those things that I can't rewatch again because those scenes literally HURT to watch, like painful feelings. Maybe because it deals with real life tradegy and has no fantasy whatsoever (well, except for the ending/alternate universe). But also because those two scenes (you know the ones) just drag on and on and you KNOW what the end result will be so you're just like "please make it stop PLEASE". ;_______; Although I can't name it my #1 favorite anime of all time just because of how almost EVERY episode hurt me in some way, I still acknowledge it as the best I've ever seen. And I think the soundtrack is a huge part of it, because it's so haunting and horribly fitting yet beautiful at the same time. Clannad

Well, then heres a tidbit, the end was actually a separate ending in the original game meaning the ending where ushio dies is very real in a alternate timeline where nagisa dies giving birth the one where she doesnt die is the good ending and the one where she dies is the bad ending in the game where u didnt collect enough light orbs...really loved how they made the anime like this :3

The feelings this song envokes are truly magical. It puts me in a state of mind where I reminisce on every key aspect in life. My trials & tribulations, my first heartache, first love, the passing of a loved one....Its does so much. This was the perfect soundtrack for Clannad because you were in tune with characters, you felt exactly what Tomoya felt..There's so much that can be sad about this, but I feel Ive said enough on my part..

_"Love is like heaven but can hurt like hell"_ I saw this anime a long time ago. But for some reason, I just came back to experience the emotions of this track in the scene in which it was portrayed. Love is a beautiful thing to experience but with love comes pain as well. So for each of you, love what you still have at this moment and keep loving until their day of parting. Life is but a fleeting shadow.

@j22Cr4zyDuck8 жыл бұрын
+( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° ) I'm kind of agree with your opinion too. Shigatsu wa kimi no uso didn't make me cry THAT much, and I didn't really feel depressed like I did with Clannad or Nagi No Asukara when I reached the end. Of course it was sad for Kaori, but even though I found that all the feels where gathered up on the last cpuples of eps and before that moment, everything is just about music and contest... I mean, instead I would have loved to see the relationship between Arima and Kaori being more developped. Like Clanand with Tomoya and Nagisa...

I can't believe it's been almost 5 years... When I watched it I was 15, now I'm close to 20, but it feels like it was yesterday. As soon as I finished it, I knew this was going to be my favorite show ever, not only among anime. It still is, and I've watched so much more stuff since then, but this got a special place in my heart, I cried so much, it touched me so deeply I can feel it impacted my conception of life. I've grown up a lot since those days, I'm not even sure I'd like it as much if I had to watch it for the first time now, maybe it was the perfect anime at the perfect timing, but I'll always remember this as the greatest thing I ever watched. Just wanted to share this, hopefully I'm not the only one that has been such deeply touched by this anime..

I love clannad. The emotions it makes you feel is amazing. It makes you laugh, it makes you smile, it makes you anxious, it makes you nervous, and makes you cry. The characters are so relatable, and the message of the story hits so hard. Those last few episodes were the most painful things I had ever watched in my life, and I love them. Just hearing this song makes me sad. I don’t give 10/10s very easily, but clannad gets one. Amazing anime.

+Seripmac +Seripmac one I can personally relate to is the OVA episode or rather Tomoyos Arc where Tomoya and Tomoyo love each other and wanna be with one another but other people's views on it isn't acceptable and because both parties are entitled to a different life one has to let the other go from holding them back ... It was painful but if the love is genuine it'll last a lifetime which is why Tomoyo comes back to Tomoya after they go their separate ways in the that episode .... Similar scenario happened with me this past December
