Clansayes is a small village perched on a formerly fortified rocky peak.
The plateau was already occupied in the Bronze Age 4000 years ago.
The Romanesque church and the incredible keep are the only intact survivors from its medieval period. Because a powerful earthquake destroyed the village in the 18th century. Only the Romanesque church and two towers remain standing. The houses were rebuilt at the beginning of the 19th century. After 1970, Clansayes gradually took on its current appearance...
