Really enjoying the Journeyman content. My favourite Clapton solo album.

Just subscribed!! Love all the Clapton stuff, but think the 80's stuff is WAY underappreciated. I got into EC in the mid 80's and have remained a huge fan. My favorite musician by far. My first 2 times seeing him live were both in Cincinnati on the Journeyman tour. Great memories indeed. Thanks very much for these lessons.

Great lesson - you should check out Claptons efforts on Richies Sambora’s Mr. Bluesman, really good solo.

Very generous of you Mike, to give free lessons like this. Thank you so much. We were intending to cover this, but none of us has a guitar with 43 frets!!! Lol.

Hi Mike, great lesson. Regarding the first phrase of the guitar solo, i believe he is bending it up to D (17th fret of G string bent to the 19th) and then using pinch harmonics. In other words, he is hitting a pinch harmonic on the downstroke once the note has been bent and then hitting a regular note on the upstroke. If you hold the bend and then use a pinch harmonic on the downstroke and then a regular note on the upstroke, i believe you get the exact effect he is doing.

Great job Mike... Saved me a lot of time deciphering this myself. That's hell of a bend - nearly took me down to the bone lol.

Fantastic stuff, Mike! First of all, it's an absolute travesty your channel doesn't have more subscribers - pro guitarist giving out free high-quality content. Anyway, loved this lesson. If you ever have time to look at Clapton's solo / outro solo from 24 Nights live (1990), that would be cool.

Great playing! LOVE these Clapton videos! You should do Layla (the album) next and then the next logical step would be some Duane Allman licks.

Nice video here. Your strat shouldn’t be choking out up there. Truss rod adjustment needed most likely. Probably too much relief. Try tightening it up 1/4 turn til it sings. I had the same issue.

Good stuff Mike. I know you are often suggesting to us to practice licks in different keys all over the fretboard. Have you heard the rambling on my mind version on "EC was here " he calls out the keys and plays all over the fretboard. I really like it, and think it might be a hood one on here. Best wishes
@mikebrookfield3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I often use that in my lessons with students.. I jammed along with that on cassette alot years ago.. really helped my ear & fretboard knowledge..

Thought I would look in on your vid to compare notes no punn intended, played this song in the set list many times and we are both pretty close,only thing I do differently is to play an either at the nutt &Bb full chords 1st frett playing in a band scenario with no keys seems to give a more ambient feel.Any how good job man

Great lesson Mike. How do get authentic Tone for this song, with a little bit fuz. Is there a pedal in use or a specific Amp ?
@MrManualDaniel3 жыл бұрын
Great job Mike, you nailed that. Your explanation on the timing of the “badge” section really helped. What equipment do you use to play along to, loop, and slow the speed down?
