That’s a super nice and humble response. It’s nice seeing a big boxer admitting how difficult it is to go into the MMA world as a professional boxer. She and Holly Holm are the only two to transfer over with some form of success. None of these guys in boxing would ever dare to do this

Opponent's combined record before fighting her was 6-8, in non-compeitive weight classes. The one woman who beat her, had just started fighting, and has since gone 1-3 against unheralded competition, in unheralded weight classes. And Shields has faced significant adversity in all of them, even with the help of the no elbows ruleset. I think we need to slow down on the praise, just imagine if Kayla Harrison had this tough of a start.

@@SpyroTek no top male boxers in their athletic primes have fought in mma because their fragile egos won’t allow themselves to lose in a sport that they have to humble themselves to learn the basics of. Clarissa is doing what Terrence Crawford, Canelo and Tyson Fury won’t do.
@SpyroTek
@SpyroTek 3 ай бұрын
@@TheBlackRanger187 Well that's a bit different if you narrow it down to those specifics. In the specific scenario of a top male boxer in their prime crossing over it makes no sense. There just isn't any money in it relative to what they get in boxing for top male boxers. It's different for females because the top female MMA fighters are bigger than the top female boxers.
@TheBlackRanger187
@TheBlackRanger187 3 ай бұрын
@@SpyroTek you mean to tell me Tyson fury vs Francis Ngannou or Jon jones in an MMA fight wouldn’t make tens of millions? Or Canelo and Terrence Crawford vs anybody in a crossover event wouldn’t make top dollar? I beg to differ, the opportunity is there the boxers just aren’t down to take the risk, which is understandable why be a fish out of water when you’re comfortable in your own pond. That’s what makes Clarissa so special, she’s willing to compete in another sport while in her prime and with all her boxing success. She’s a rare breed.
@SpyroTek

@@TheBlackRanger187 Yeah I'm pretty sure any of those top boxers wouldn't make anywhere near as much in MMA but if you think otherwise then I can't argue with that as there's no way to prove it, it's just opinion. But either way I'm sure you can agree that the top female boxers are not superstars in the boxing world like they can be in the MMA world.

Well it depends how you see it, it is harder becausz you need to learn more styles of Fighting, it is much more complete .. so you will always have grappling/wrestling to save you if you are not solid enough with your Fists or Kicks .. In Boxing, legs are very important as well but very differently as you have to be able to punch for nearly 40 minutes, you do have more effort towards your shoulders, arms and the only places one get hurt in Boxing are the head and body .. Boxings is significantly more dangerous for the Brain, Deat** happens/coma as well .. none of that is possible generally in Mma because rules are vastly differents, one can hit the body, legs, head and you can wrestle and lay down for 25 minutes .. In Boxing if your footwork, speed or power cannot save you, you are done, there is no way out except to run .. Boxing is Very hard Physically ,endurance is different and it was harder at 15 rounds 😅 ..

As another man... who loves money. I think you're wrong. I'm willing to bet she could be trained strong enough and fast enough, box to beat men. Except she's going to need "a" serious fat loss, "b" much stronger cardio, and "c" lots of body re-composition. That's just the start. She's going to need spar with Sean Strickland. She's going to need some very serious speed work, lots of shuffle dancing training with skip rope, and time for hypertrophy 48-72 hours. So cardio is most days. Calisthenics is maybe 2-3 days. Weights are 2 days a week. I think the problem with muscles are irreducibility. Which means there's going to be shadow boxing during running, isometric training once every 2 weeks to produce better tendons, and life vest for swimming.
@BijouBakson
@BijouBakson 3 ай бұрын
She can start to think of that after she's finally beaten every woman in every woman category and sport. Because a man who beats her gets no credit.@@KhattaRapidus
@KhattaRapidus
@KhattaRapidus 3 ай бұрын
Reason for this 2-3 days a week with the muscle building is healing. She's not a hyperresponder to natural muscle growth. So she's going to need natural growth cycles and very controlled weights. Calisthenics is going to need be the new staple of her "weight lifting" as all the greats use that to plug up holes in physical ability. Cardio 5 days a week is necessary to get conditioning and also work ankles with the dancing/skip rope. Speed work is to unlock holes in her game plan and which may come from being slow, not rocketing off lots of timed combos. Another thing is the weight down the floor becomes important for both short and tall people. Tall people have to punch down, to the side, when you duck close. So they are going to hook into you and when you charge inside, stop you like the Lion stopped Tyson. Another thing is knowing your opponent effective range. and will depend on the reach of fighter. That's more important than height and unless you really short. Isometric training is extremely important as to promote much faster and snappier punches. Tendons are often overlooked in training. Life vest for swimming is important since it slows you down and keeps you from drowning. Then she can go twice as long laps in the pool and twice as far. Sparring Sean Strickland is terrific idea.
