Generous presentation, great attitude: Love your welcoming a community into your site. Some notes: to self-correct before committing, use THREE measured points to define any line; use your square (or triangles) AS you measure (or before cutting pattern). Rounding corners are easily established at this time, along with the rounded stitchlines, as in your example. Grading the leather weights should happen before any construction, and a listing of the STEPS IN ORDER is useful- there’s more than a noob would think!

I find your videos very informative and appreciate you! One question, in a different video, you show how to choose a leather for a project. You say for embossing with a stamp like your logo is best with vegetable oil tanned leather. Is that what use in the "make" video that goes along with this video? You use a press with a stamp for your logo and the leather looks like chromium tanned leather so I am just curious if it is or if you can still get a decent stamp in Chromium tanned leather. Thank you again sharing all your knowledge. It is truly appreciated!

Hey Tanner, I'm a new subscriber to your channel and have been watching quite a number of your videos. Love what you do and how you explain it all. I'm thinking of making this wallet as a gift for our annual Christmas, "Make Gift" tradition in which everyone in the family makes a unique gift for another. One thing I'd like to add to it that I've not seen in your videos is how I could incorporate some material (like a very thin, "silky like" liner) on the inside where you just have the raw leather shown. Obviously, it could just be sandwiched in before glue and stitching but how would I keep it from not showing or leaving a gap on the sides. I hope that I explained my question clearly enough.

Could you show how you sharpen your cutting tools in a video please?

I have a box of 500 of those folders i got on clearance at Staples for $1.00 I use those mainly for prototyping and then transfer to cereal box when im happy with it.

What's involved in getting that customized heat emboss stamp, I like that kind of smooth leather and I have some but I don't have to tell you that it's not overly suited for tooling.

What’s the difference between a scratch awl and a regular awl? I’m having a really hard time tracing out patterns and I can’t see my lines to cut. I have awls but none of them seem sharp enough to do anything.
