Thank you ... this has saved me £70 for a service on a £90 starter clarinet for my Daughter and I now have a lifetimes supply of George's Glue from the US (Via ebay) and a full set of skin pads from China (eBay again).

Thanks for this video, very much appreciate it. With this I am going to attempt to repad my Normandy 4 Clarinet. Over here in the Seattle area, music stores want $200 for this. Thought I should attempt this myself, 'cause this is not rocket science should be doable. Parts are on the way. Can't wait.

300 here in LA, and I found a kit for both pads and cork on Amazon for only 30. Agreed, doesn't seem too difficult and looks easy enough to save the money. Main concern is having to remove the keys to apply them and putting it back together

Great information. Very useful! I needed to know this since I don't trust the instrument repair shop I was referred to by daughter's band director. In the DFW area -2016, I was quoted $30 for one clarinet pad replacement or $288 for full by Music & Arts. I'm looking for alternative. Your info means I can evaluate if they know what they're talking about, at least. Thank you!

I enjoyed the simple way you explained how to do this. I have a pawnshop special I am refurbishing . This is my first attempt at installing pads. Can you tell me where you order pads from?

Melissa, Good luck with the re-padding. Try to contact J. L. Smith. I think he's in North Carolina. You may find him listed as J. L. Smith flutes. But first just Google his name.

No. That's out of date and pads drop out eventually with cement. But never with hot melt glue and George's glue. Shellac has also been made obsolete.

If you use superglue, be prepared to buy lots of acetone to remove the pads next time they fail.
