After Clark died, some people blamed his death on Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn would be late for filming a lot and it drove him beyond mad. Anyway, thank you for sharing this with us. Looks like they were happy for awhile. From what I have read she knew he wasn't exactly faithful but as long as he came home she was happy.

Real jem. Clark pets dog, Carole pets Clark. I watched 'The Misfits' and wonder if he drew from the pain of lossing Carole for that role. He let all of his pain come out. Gable loved Carole deeply. Please post more if you have them.

Ghost Adventures did a show at the Pioneer saloon in Goldsprings Nevada. They think Carole's spirit is there because where she died was at the mountain where they went and still saw the plane pieces The saloon was a makeshift morgue to collect Carole and 20 others from the plane crash. And they have a shrine dedicated to her and Clark at the saloon.

You have to remember the time period, though. In the 1930's, smoking didn't have the stigma of today.
