Well, to be fair, they do make out with each other alot throughout the series. Would've liked to see these 2 paired up one of the hundred times that Clark and Lana break up. Imagine this if you will. Clark and Lana break up. That night, Chloe comes to the farm and finds Clark in the barn. She tells him that she heard about what happened with Lana. Clark tells her that he knows in his heart that it was the right thing to happen, and there's a reason why he knows that. Chloe turns to him slowly, asks him what he's convinced that reason might be. That's when Clark kisses her, and lays her down in the hay, her legs around his waist. After some rolling around, their clothes is now all over the barn. Slow zoom on Clark's face hovering just inches above Chloe's. Suddenly, you see Clark thrust and Chloe gasps before she starts passionately moaning. Fade away, and fade back to them laying side by side, Chloe wrapped in Clark's arms. They kiss, and Clark tells her that if little miss investigative reporter needs to do some more fact checking, he'd be happy to elaborate. That would probably be too much for Smallville, even though it can work if shot right, just like the Cloois sex scenes were.

This scene is one of my favorites. When Chloe touches his abdomen Clark looked at her and the look in his eyes to me seemed like he wanted it more. Lol :) Yes Clark said that he didn't feel romantically connected to her but I disagree. Mark my words had Lois or Lana not been in the picture Clark would have pursued Chloe in a heartbeat. The Lana storyline got dragged out way too much!

maxpayne2424 Again, no matter how much you re-imagine an established and enduring story, there are some things you DON'T just change. Lex will always be Superman's nemesis and Lois will always be his love. So what if it was there because of the mythos? The actors had superb chemistry with each other and they didn't even start dating as soon as Season 8 began. The show is about Clark Kent before he became Superman for crying out loud. Of course they'd line many elements of the show to Superman's story especially in the later seasons as he edged towards taking up the mantle of Superman. Spare me the crap about how Lois and Clark's relationship was forced in late seasons to line with the story of Superman. Considering the countless references to that relationship from the moment Lois arrived in Smallville, I'd say it was planned from the start. In fact, the only reason it didn't begin earlier was because DC disallowed it until after Season 6 because of the impending release of 'Superman Returns'. There doesn't have to be a follow up show before it counts as a prequel. It may have been a reimagined story but it's still a prequel to the Superman comics. The fact is, if Clark had ended up with anyone other than Lois, way more people like you would be complaining years after the show ended so please...

maxpayne2424​ Yeah, you keep telling yourself that it's an entirely different universe that has nothing to do with the comics even though it's based on a comic book character and his journey in becoming a hero. Those references were placed there to foreshadow what had been planned from the start. My goodness! How exactly do you "act upon" or "give a second thought" to a reference? Also, keep telling yourself that writers can change important elements of a long standing when they have NO reason to. Keep convincing yourself that he should have ended up with either Chloe or Lana because they were the first two girls that showed him romantic attention. Whatever floats your boat, man. 

maxpayne2424​ Okay. Now you're just spewing rubbish. Did you genuinely expect Clark to start working at the Daily Planet when he was 14? Because believe it or not, from Seasons 1-7, he was between 14 and 21 years of age. A newspaper remains the best place for him to work as no one would question his appearances in dangerous areas or disappearances. So yes, he began working there. Him not working there earlier has nothing to do with a modern setting. As I said, the show began to line up with mythos as he edged towards being Superman and there is NOTHING wrong with that as much as you'd like to believe there is. Lana leaving, believing that their toxic relationship was holding him back eventually pushed him to think about the job application Lois gave him and led to him trying to make a mark in Metropolis. When his identity as a hero was almost compromised, of course he took up a secret identity as he couldn't protect people he cared about while simultaneously saving the city as Clark Kent. That is a fact. Lord knows when a dual identity for a hero became "shit we've grown used to." Again, him not taking up a secret identity earlier has NOTHING to do with a modern setting. Many Superboy stories portrayed him and Lex Luthor being friends. Admittedly, Lex finding out Clark's secret was a long time coming within the show but the fact is, even if Rosenbaum had extended his contract beyond Season 7, they would have found a way for him to lose that information. Lex Luthor refusing to believe a god-like being will dwell amongst humans as one of them is an important part of his character and his relationship with Superman and if he knew his true identity, he'd stop at nothing to make him miserable. So what if Clark and Lois had less to do with each other in Season 7? The times they shared together showed how much they cared for each other. It should be noted that Chloe was in a relationship of her own by this time. Are you trying to tell me that we are involved with the same people throughout our lives without new ones coming in and feelings changing towards others? The writers had an idea of the direction they wanted the series to go. Obviously, changes along the line would cause them to alter some of their plans. You must be naïve to think that producers of most shows have an EXACT picture of what they want to do with a show and follow that formula to the letter.

You have a problem with believing he can go in and work for a big newspaper while ignoring what other "unrealistic" things that go on within the show. It's a show, deal with it. What other women? The ones that lasted for at most, 3 episodes even before Lois' arrival? I'm not justifying Lex's loss of memory. However, whatever direction the show had gone, there was no way Lex was going to retain his memory of Clark's identity permanently. You trying to argue about his dual identity is your most stupid move yet. This is at least one point I expected to get through your skull if you were a little bit intelligent. Heroes without secret identities are few and far between because it's well established that people they love would get hurt if their enemies knew who they were. What do you suggest? That he should have just exposed himself to the world? In the name of a "Modern setting"? Even 'Man of Steel' with all its emphasis on realism and modernism had Clark Kent working at the Daily Planet at the end, without prior experience, complete with a secret identity that wasn't public knowledge. Spare me please.

Believe it or not, who you think you'll end up with isn't who you eventually end up with. Spider-Man had Betty Brant, Debra Whitman, Gwen Stacy and the Black Cat but ended up with neither. Yes, people would've been pissed because straying that far from Superman's story is desecration. Why should he have ended up with anyone else in a bid for it to be "it's own show"? So you're suggesting that Lex should have retained his memory of Clark's identity? For what reason? I'm really curious to hear what you have to say about it because so far all you've done is ignore it. Go on and explain how Lex's knowledge of his identity betters his story. When exactly was he recognised as the best reporter in the world? You're talking about things making sense? Because Chloe hacking the DDS in minutes is realistic, amongst other things. Of course, every show mixes realism and fantasy but I'll be damned if Smallville didn't have more of the latter throughout its entire run. If you knew the least bit about Superman, you'd know that his disguise is more than just about glasses and why he can't just wear a mask. Your opinion about Man of Steel remains just that. ;) Angry with the original Superman's rendition of his secret identity, angry with Smallville's, angry with Man of Steel's as well. Very true. She forever stained the character of Chloe. Her character has a lot of potential.. Especially now that they are doing multiverses. :( I always hoped to see her in panels, comic cons, and cameos in new series. She was my fave character. Sad. :(

That's because it's the tone. With Sullivan, her tone ranges from, cute, to curious, to excited to sadness depending on her mood. With Lana Lang on the other-hand, there's sadness, resentment, jealousy and condescension. Funnily enough they are both great actresses, so even if they didn't want people to love or hate them, they did a pretty good job invoking those emotions from the viewer.
