Sting was kick out of the 4 horsemen. Sting challenge Nature Boy Ric Flair for his NWA World Championship Belt.

Yup! I remember telling my friend about this the other day and he swears this isn't where Sting's knee got messed up. Proved him wrong. I saw this as a kid and I thought it was part of the story... but then I saw a WCW/NWA magazine that had a section of him going through rehab and it showed his scar. This injury messed up the whole story line where Sting was supposed to get the belt from Flair in an upcoming pay per view or something. So they brought in Luger to feud with Flair until Sting was better. In real life, Rick Flair refused to lose the belt in any kind of story line to anyone because he wanted or promised that he would lose it to Sting. It worked out because they got the classic Great American Bash match. I'll never forget it. When the Sting and Horsemen feud started I became a Sting fan and at that moment I never followed WWF again until WCW folded

Match changed earlier in the show when Sting was bounced out of the Horseman. The match itself was advertised with Sting in it(but the booking casued the change)

Actually, the fans were cheering for only Muta, and couldn't care less about Sawyer or Dragon Master.

Yep, the security guard didn't know it was part of the show and when he pulled him off the cage, his ACL tore. It was gonna be Sting/Flair but Luger ended up taking them spot.

Good thing it wasn’t the ACL. Luger would’ve had to fight Flair at every PPV until 1991.

Well, they could've easily had Flair vs. Muta at Wrestle War 1990.

@@RoyStantz Muta was done wrestling full time in the 🇺🇸 because of the booking! So he went back to New Japan full time!

I remember watching this live and being pleasantly shocked how Muta was going over. Especially when he did the flying cartwheel elbow. The crowd exploded!

Hart was working for WCW at the time and managed what was called the J-Tex corporation. He had been Muta's manager since Muta had arrived earlier in 1989

I think Hart had left before this Clash.

He was gone from WCW after StarCade 89 if I remember correctly

When they pulled Sting off the cage, he landed awkwardly and tore his knee. Doug Dillinger pulled him down too hard instead of "working"

@@stufrankie8332 Sting says it popped when he jumped onto the cage. Maybe he's protecting them, but that's his version of the story.

@@wiredforstereo I've heard that too and he's obviously protecting them cuz u can see him climbing and going after that. He didn't wince in pain or anything til he hit the floor.
