Seeing how Luffy also lost to Kaido first is kind of sad. Only Shanks took Kidd seriously. Him not holding back was the biggest compliment from him. Unlike Kaido who didn’t take Luffy seriously at all.

This moment really highlights the true difference between the Straw Hats and most other crews. After his defeat, Kidd's crew immediately offered Shanks the Road Poneglyphs, and thereby Kidd's entire dream of becoming pirate king, simply to survive. The Straw Hats would never sacrifice their dreams, let alone their captain's, regardless of how overwhelming a defeat. In other words, Kidd's crew does not have the mettle to be the crew of a Pirate King.

I love that Shanks looks a little like a villain in this because, to Kid, Shanks is a villain. And I love that Shanks’ aura when he drew his sword was a Gryphon because that’s his sword’s name.

I don't why Oda built Kid up especially with the entire Wano arc where he showcased his might, only to decimate him and his crew with one blow, well two blows at Elbaf. Was wishing that he would compete with Luffy for the pirate king. But I guess it's going to be a showdown between Shanks, Buggy and Blackbeard. I think even Law is out of the picture, a character that was fleshed out for an entire decade

It's to show that not everyone will win the race to one piece and not everyone will be a participant for this race. Law, kidd, Hawkins are already out. Apoo, bege, urouge, bonney are nowhere to be found. Drake is a navy man. So luffy and BB are the only worst gen who are the emperors and the participants of final race to one piece with shanks and buggy.

Last manga chapter they said "not yet" after Atlas blowing up and Lilith losing signal(thinking she's dead), because they need to end the VP transmission to fully complete the mission.

As someone who doesn't like Kid anyway I knew Shanks would beat him but it it felt a bit rushed - I thought that it would be a longer fight, because well Kid is a very strong character. And I know its Plot, but come on: 1.Shanks can see into the future 2. He can suddenly fly at high speed although he doesn't have a devil fruti/is a normal dude 3. His sword isn't "normal" metal because it didn''t got pulled to Kid's magnet powers - And I mean, Shanks always looks so chill, like he doens't take anything too serious - which will probably get him killed in the end. - just my opinion - i was dissapointed how they killed off one of the most powerfull characters in the show

And there isn't any logic why he can fly and why he didn't lost his sword because od Kids magnet power (we saw swords from the other pirates and even ships being pull towards the magnet). I mean...we see shanks beat two very strong oponnents (the admiral guy and Kid now) without even having a proper battle 😗

I like the symbolism in the episode with the black film bars at the top and bottom. The episode was structured like a film. Captain Kid wants to defeat the final boss and be celebrated as a hero by his crew and at the end the bitter reality sets in. The black film bars disappear in the flames and he sees the bitter reality. Kid was so arrogant that he literally drove his ship and crew to their own extinction. He even lost his arm to Shanks' vice before Wano-Kuni.

Also people didn't realize the subtle hint how weak shanks alliance captains actually are. That's why they all got quick barely readable intros. I had to pause to read their names which was never done before by any character intros also a lot of these didn't happen in the manga. This whole scene in the manga was just The giants making their attack to Kidd the whole Shanks attack was never in the manga nor the whole Shanks alliance interaction.

Kidd wasn't being arrogant, he had to measure his strength alone as one of the major one piece players, which this shows Kidd was never a player for One Piece in the end and despite Law, Kidd and Luffy having the same bounties, Luffy is far ahead of the other two as Luffy's crew would have never surrendered like that and Luffy has 3 crew members who would have been able to help block that attack. While Laws crew are more than capable. Look at the difference of Law confidently focused on his attack while big head dude blocked an attack for Law and his crew fighting off BB commanders. Kidd only have Killer, his crew is weak. The difference in being a Yonko and just a strong pirate. Luffy's crew are handling Goreseis while Kidds crew were helpless and barely did anything in the raid besides Killer.

Well Kid was right about one thing, it was over in 10 seconds... Shanks gave him the warning, a chance to walk away, threw up his whole wikipedia page to check up on him, and then literally ended his whole damn career. One Hit KO, with Killer as a bonus stray KO, and with Roger's move against Oden too, Shanks is on another level. RIP the Victoria Punk though, really did love the dinosaur headpiece Oh yes, that was a Blackbeard ship, that is his flag

Not really Kid's power. It's more of Shanks' rage from literally seeing his friends/allies being wiped out. Look at Shanks' facial expression after mauling Kidd. The man was pissed off.

Well thinking about it... It kinda does make sense why kid would attack Shanks. - Still relatively a new emperor. (Only became an emperor 6 years ago.) - Known for having a weak fleet. - Doesn't have any devil fruit. So yeah if you're in the one piece world and you have to choose between the old four emperors you would think that Shanks is the weakest. What I don't understand is... Kid attacking him again; when he lost an arm to the number 2 of the crew! Maybe because he got too overconfident because he defeated an emperor already, and he significantly powered up and awaken after the first fight. But imma chuck it up to Kid's pride because he does have a lot of it! And it's very fitting that he got defeated to the land of the prideful warriors of Elbaf!

Tbh what else does Kidd do? The only other top crews vying for Pirate King at this point are his, Strawhats, Blackbeard’s, Cross Guild, and Shanks’ crew. He’s gotta go big or go home to proceed, plus he didn’t expect to run into Shanks

Kid likely got rescued by fishman or something. He’s definitely not dead, but I think his chance at becoming king of the pirates is over. Due to this, he’ll likely oppose Luffy, who is the more likely one to become king of the pirates, maybe even joining blackbeards crew to directly oppose him. This is just a wild prediction tho

If I was Kidd I would have fought Shanks, . 1. Kidd wants to be Pirate King . 2. Shanks already sent message that if Kidd wanted to leave he would have to give away his poneglyph rubbings meaning that the only way Kidd was leaving was if he threw away his dream. . So it's as simple as this, as long as Kidd had the ambition to become The Pirate King, there was no escaping this fight in the first place.

Kid’s cocky ego and overconfidence is what led to his dreams being taken away from him in the blink of an eye. He forgot that he didn’t beat Big Mom all on his own. Don’t misunderstand me and the rest of you should take this into consideration too, Kid is in no way weak, we definitely is worth over 3 Billion for a reason, Shanks was simply just the stronger one of the two. With his observation haki he saw the ill-fated future that Kid would have caused massive destruction to Elbaph and his fleet with his Damned Punk. So with that deep insight into the future he wanted to nip this mess in the bud before it had the chance to get ugly, real ugly. Shanks took this matter very seriously and had to end it in one blow.

I personally think Kid is still alive, maybe his crew died, from saving him from drowning and then later, Luffy will find him physically hurt and emotionally broken on Elbaf. Luffy then uses gear 5 to cheer him up and Kid has a change of heart then he asks Luffy to help him in some way, maybe after Elbaf, Kid will travel with the Straw hats. I just think, Oda wants us to believe that Kid is dead, but he is not, his crew mates saved him, but then they died and now he is hiding on Elbaf wounded and depressed. I mean destroyed or defeated doesn't mean kid is dead. So until Oda says it himself that Kid is dead, I am not gonna believe it. I have to admit I am not a Kid fan but I just like the idea of Eustass Kid crying and Luffy trying to cheer him up😇😇😇. By the way: great reaction 😇👍

Shanks is the youngest Yunko, I guess that's why Kid thought it would be an easy fight, we as viewers know that Shanks is one of the strongest Haki users, but Kid doesn't know, he lost his arm in a fight with Ben Beckman not Shanks

I mean, Luffy tried Big Mom 1v1 in WCI and he did 0 damage. Then Luffy tried also with Kaido and got 1 shot in their 1st encounter. Kidd is just a Luffy without plot armor. But another difference, Luffy's crew control him sometimes and he can listen at times. Kidd's crew just let him do stupid things. 😂

So people have been talking crap about not only Kid but Law as well. My thoughts are, Kid had it coming because he really thought he took out a Yonko on his own(Not true whatsoever, we all know that Law helped him). Kid was way too bold and cocky! Law on the other hand was minding his own business and then out of no where Blackbeard shows up and starts his $*iT! It irritates me when people compare the two because they are very different situations.

i still feel like the other vegapunks that were numbered lower than york should have still been able to take control back of the seraphim because of their rank. stellar is a perfectionist so it was careless of him to not think about that. besides, all she does is eat, sleep and do waste, why give her any authority at all? and if kid didn't make it, it makes me wonder how luffy is going to feel when he finds out. he considers kid and law somewhat friends even though it might be one sided amd they're rivals. what if he thinks shanks went too far by taking their lives? having 2 people you know fall out and fight is awkward already, now what if luffy has to take sides in the future?
