Thank you doc. It’s a bit confusing for me what burs should we rely on with different purposes. It seems that you used 245 only and you did it. Others do punch cuts first with round then straight fissure to cut and inverted cone to smoothen the pulpal floor and do the dovetails. I loved how you managed that with only one. What should I use to make this prep. As easy as possible to be done doc? Is there any reference to view different teeth outline doc? Thank you

You are most welcome. The easiest way is to use No. 245 bur. The design of the 245 bur gives you what you need to create a smooth the floor and a converged occlusally walls. Yes, some use the carbide fissure to create a definite box shaped design, and this bur can also be used to smoothen the floor. An inverted cone may be used but care needs to be taken not to make the walls too converged occlusally. At our institute, we tech students to use either No. 245 or carbide straight fissure but for amalgam cavity preparation. In the reference Art and Science now they are mostly using No. 245. In terms for a reference for all cavity outlines, you may refer to Art and Science book or Fundamentals of Operative Dentistry. الله يعافيك يارب.. يعني يكون فيه فراغ بسيط بين السنتين عشان نضمن كل السوس يكون انشال لأن السوس يتكون عند الالتقاء بين السنتين. ويكون مرة بسيط بحيث رأس dental explorer يعدي بين السنتين 🌷

يعطيك العافية دكتورة شكر جميل مشكورة... بس سؤال اسع تسمايتك للفيديو بأنك حطيتي ال # غلط اقصد انك حاطة ال # وهذا نظام الترقيم العالمي وحاطة رقم 26 وهذا لنظام الترقيم F.D.I يعني لازم تسمين الرحى الأولى العلوية اليمين اذا تستخدمين نظام F.D.I فقط تكتبين 26 اما اذا تستخدمين Universal tooth notation system فلازم تكتبين #14 فقط صحيح كلامي!!

عفوا. وشكرا لك. الحقيقة هو العكس: إشارة # تستخدم في ال F.D.I system ولا يستخدم شيء أمام ال universal numbering system حتى يتم التفريق بينهم. لقد رجعت إلى المراجع وسألت المختصين للتأكد من صحة ما أكتبه في الفيديوهات حرصا على أن يتعلم الطالب المعلومة الصحيحة. تأكدت الآن مرة أخرى من المعلومة وسألت المختصين فما هو مكتوب في الفيديوهات صحيح. شكرا لاهتمامك

Why didn’t you converge the box walls ? ( buccal and lingual ) doc

A No. 245 bur was used, so the shape of the bur can provide the convergence needed. When using a straight fissure bur slight tilting of the bur to provide convergence is needed. In general, converged walls or parallel walls are both correct. The most important thing that the buccal and lingual walls are not diverged

You deepen the box until the contact is open between both teeth, you will be able to pass the tip of the explorer. This is important to make sure all the decay is reached and removed.
