Back in the time of World of Warcraft: Classic, we got to re-experience the wonders and joys of Class Quests. Warlocks got to get supplies to summon demons, Priests had to gather holy relics to bring those who fell in battle back from the dead, and Druids learned the ways of nature to transform into wild creatures of nature. Now in World of Warcraft: Retail, all you gotta do is ding and you just get the abilities. What a load of horse sh-

It really can't be overstated how much of an effect class quests had on me. To this day, class identity is centrally important to my expectations when it comes to RPGs, video and tabletop. Druid was my first class waaaaaaay back during vanilla and when I was called by my trainer to visit Moonglade, I felt privileged. With Tauren walking amidst Night Elves in this secret grove accessible only to Druids, I felt set apart from Warriors and Priestesses. Not "better" I stress, just that there was a place in this fantasy world made for those like me, and parts of it I couldn't access but others could. These quests showed how your class wasn't merely a skillset, it was part of the world-building. You were joining a legacy and/or niche that had a specific place in this world of adventure and magic. This is why I, mixed as they were by some, utterly adored the Class Order Halls and Campaigns. (And subsequently why the game kind of peaked for me there.) They gave us entire personalized adventures, some of which were in totally different story genres from one another, that were rooted in the identity and fantasy of the class they were for.

I loved how class quests made you go to or gather really random stuff and then you'd have to ask your friend and explain why you need their help in this random place. That was fun 🙂💖

I miss the druid class quests the most. So many lost spirits of the wild.

Second and third are the Warrior quest to learn Whirlwind, and basically every Hunter quest

@@POTATOEMPN I counter with the rogue pick locks quest where there was a killer parrot that was immune to physical damage. You had to kill it with magic damage. Hopefully you were an engineer and had bombs, the skull from some low level troll area quests were about all you could use in that fight.

@@loka7783 I actually was an engineer on my rogue lol. She made my first couple million gold selling that icy ammo in Wrath lol. Poor hunter's were at my mercy. And of course, my hunter got free ammo.

Holy shit i forgot about tht song that plays at the end of this episode AT 2:29 . Please tell me anyone knows, even though i feel like its just playing backwards, but still. ! edit: i tried to shazam it and it doesnt know, so now im 100% certain nixxiom just played it in reverse. I need assistance still it sounds so familiar but i cant quite put my finger on what song it is D:

Nostalgia currupts perspective. Class quests whilst they existed - "rubbish waste of time for one power, gotta go all the way across the map three times, bullshit". After class quests are no longer a thing - oh they were great and adding flavour to each class, it was so much fun spending all night getting one power Class quests sucked.
