Welcome to Texas, boy. Honestly, Class Wars has really grown on me. Heavies are still a bit much, but spamming a single class and rushing Dustbowl's terrible points just has a charm to it, you know? So, by popular demand, I'm trying it out again. Will it be a fun challenge? Will it be an absolute floor-wipe since attacking a 16 person sentry nest is almost impossible? We'll just have to see!

I remember a few days ago we were fighting a lot of the new scout bots. Our entire team went engineer and slowly moved our giant nest up into the red's base, like army ants building.

I'm fine with it since it makes unbearable matchups like BLU Scouts vs RED Engineers at least bearable and still a bit fun, but I really hate two in particular: God Mode and No-Clip

I once played the in the dustbowl, it was on the chokies part (the one with thw rocket) demo vs demo, we all decided to go demoknight. I went on a 15 heads killstreak absolutely annihilating the enemy team

class wars forces you to do kamikaze style solo pushes that would literally never work in any other situation and thats honestly so much fun every now and then. but at its core class wars is so chaotic, it really doesnt need rtd to make it even more hectic

Unwritten rule of class wars, you can only surrender if you're on BLU, if you're on RED then let the BLU team have their steamroll, for that fun feeling

@@hongsengchan9855 because when RED steamrolls it's 10 minutes of BLU not being able to leave spawn and red just sitting outside the doors spamming at it without thinking for 10 minutes, it gets boring for both teams, for BLU after 30 seconds for RED after about 2 minutes

Class Wars would've been fine without RTD. With RTD, its just "Defend until the other side pulls a Powerplay". Other wise, its one of my favorite community mods.

RTD is sometimes required else nothing happens sometimes because the attacking team doesnt know how to type !surrender in chat??

@@taureon_ I'd say remove Powerplay. I know that RTD can break the feeling of inevitable defeat/victory and that's good n' all, but with PP in rotation, the meta becomes what I said in the first comment.

Powerplay was broken when you were still able to cap. Now you just have to worry about the reinforcement that may or not come. Honestly I'm more worried about bat swarm anything else.

There used to be an old Skiver server that ran pure class wars, with the admins occasionally enabling RTD for memes. It’s basically a debate of: Which do you prefer: -Unwinnable offensive situations(Scout vs Engineer, Spy vs Soldier, etc) Or -Having fair matchups(Sniper vs Spy, Soldier vs Demoman, etc) ruined by bullshit rng.

From the many times I've played with RTD, perhaps one of the most irritating rolls is Bat Swarm, because not only is it near impossible to get near them without dying, but you can still cap, which kinda makes it unwinnable if they have bat swarm on the cap

I remember this one server that had a mod called Project Ghost where it was class wars but arena mode and everyone was given the same weapon. Like everyone would be a scout with Boston bashers and instantly die if they hit themselves

14:01 in delfy's classwar they did try to balance aroumd a little bit, i mean little is change the luck to got "good" roll for the "weak" team. Which is pretty nice, although it still rely on luck. But with more open map, diverse map and more balance RTD i think it still enjoyable

I think my worst experience in this mode was stage 2 as blu snipers against red pyros . . . couldn’t even open the door without turning the inside of our spawn into a blazing inferno. We couldn’t get enough people to vote surrender so a bunch of us afk kazotsky kicked in a circle by one of the resupply cabinets while we waited for the timer to count down. Most interesting experience was stage 3 as blu snipers vs red heavies. We captured the first point but that corridor was a constant tug’o’war between our teams. Even though it lasted for like 20 minutes there were plenty of close calls and tricky plays to keep it from being boring. Nothing quite as tense as a revved heavy and a scoped sniper peaking around the same corner to see who had quicker reflexes.

I love class wars, but theres only 3 servers with it, and 2 of them are literally just dustbowl, and after playing in those servers for a good 10 hours, They get boring FAST. honestly i wanna see more servers with many maps instead of just dustbowl.

I remember in my first ever game of Class Wars during a round of Soldiers vs Demos I managed to get No-Clip in an RTD roll _TWICE IN A ROW_ and flew straight to the second point above the map. Killed 3 people before they noticed and they killed me with pipes.

In the last point you need to defend I wonder if you should surround each corner with teleporters to kinda like slow or trap enemies especially on stairs. Teleporters are kinda useless if you're defending the last point which is just outside your Spawn room. You know... Just to give the teleporter some use. Just a thought 🤔...

About the heavy thing at the beginning, I would disagree. All you have to do is stay a bit away from them and shoot them with your weapons and you should be fine

I wish there was a sticky bomb launcher where sticky bombs dropped before exploding so you could use even sneaker stick bomb spots, and maybe the instead of the charge increasing the distance they fly, it increases time between falling and destination

Once on 12 v 12 class wars blu with heavies and red with pyros. Us heavies cant even attack due to flare/scorch spam, cant go in cuz knockback and flare's crits obliterate us rip. Yeah that was a sad experience I'd like to share.

I remember playing class wars with 5 people on both teams (1 was me) and it was spy vs pyro so we just gave up and did the congo which got the conga line achievement.
