... I got one word for you, buddy... Harbor freight sandblaster. Sounds like a kind of ridiculous purchase at first blush but it has come in so handy so many times with different types of media that you can put in there to do very gentle work with things. I can't tell you how glad I am with the purchase best 150 bucks I've ever spent.

Not a bad idea. It never hurts to have more tools anyways.

Buckin Billy Ray on yt will have a great amount of data on the axes, an he is up north of the states as well.

Just call it patina and put the axes back in the shed. Work smarter not harder.

Question is if you then left the axes in a damp environment which would rust again most quickly? In other words which solution converts the iron on the surface to a form that won’t oxidise better.

If those axes had good handles on them, I wonder how much wood you would have to split to get them to clean up. I would think after beating them through wood for a while that rust and paint would come off. There's probably an old timer saying out there about "A working axe never rusts"?

I know Evaporust will do far better than vinegar with heavily rusted items. In my experience anyway.

Random useless knowledge of the day. Regular vinegar is 5% acidity
@sprucestomper Жыл бұрын
That’s stuck in my brain as well. I’ll tell ya it worked well but I’ll take a pass on the smell!
@prestonahlson3299 Жыл бұрын
@@sprucestomper for sure. I use it in Mason jars to clean up smaller stuff.. but not worth the smell on a regular basis.
