BTW, Knuckles doesn't go to DEZ on S3&K, so the giant egg robot is a Sonic only final boss (Unfrontunately he couldn't add in the emerald chase after the fight, or in this case the ruby chase). But on that note, Knuckles Mecha Sonic fight is my favorite classic boss. It has it all, from the moment you get to Sky Sanctuary, you start a boss fight like normal, then soon as your caught... the music changes (to the most epic Sonic final boss music ever) and he destroys the Egg Robo. Then right after you thing its over, the music starts up and he powers up making that moment when you beat him and the entire platform blows up feel so much more epic (or maybe that's just me).

IMO, the Asterons should have been retextured into 8-Bit Silver Sonic's ball form and the mini Big Arms should have had Egg-Robos in them.
