One of my favourite ever arcade games and one of the few that I actually excelled at, When I played Roadblasters, I was like Matthew Broderick playing Galaga in War Games, the crowds used to gather round in awe, and I could play it with my eyes shut and both hands tied behind my back. Thats how I remember it anyhow, still, never did get that t-shirt. I also remember it being one of the few games I could play for about 45 mins on my 3 credits. Top of my list for a cabinet if I ever get one!

Got my roadblasters arcade 2 years ago and it was a steal, 350 dollars! Had to buy it, many memories of blowing my money on this arcade when I was a kid.

Roadblasters. I was 5 years old when I played this game for the first time. It was the first arcade game I ever played, and I loved that theme song for years too. When I got Midway Arcade Treasures, this was the first game I went to. :-D

Nice vid with awesome voice-over work! I would have to say as memorable and great as the music is the stereo sound which is super clear always stood out for me. The Road Blasters theme music from the toy commercial and the attract mode, excellent! It may have been 28 years coming but I scored my upright this week and I'm a happy man! Road Blasters rules!!

This is one of my all-time favorites. I like the futuristic setting and background designs. It has a cool soundtrack, too. Nice video!

Midway were the kings of badass psycho games, all guns and whistles, ask questions later. Really fun little game this, and there are slight echoes of their future release Stun runner here too. It always feels like you're cornering on a greasy oil slick though.

Many happy hours spent on this game. Although I was spoiled as my local arcade had the sit down version with the 'big screen'. Which was actually a smaller crt screen with a huge magnifying glass in front of it....

man i use to play that game all the time in the arcade. such a fun game.

This is the only arcade game I ever mastered. I likely spent all of my part time job money in high school to master it. I was eventually able to completely all 50 levels and get the high score nearly every time. Great game.

I was so enamored by this cabinet when I was six that my first piece of creative writing in primary school was a fictional story I wrote about this game. 1980's arcade game fan fiction ftw

I remember this arcade machine in the local Chuck E. Cheese back in the 90s, but it was a sit down machine and it was isolated in a corner away from the other arcade machines in the place.

RoadBlasters is a fantastic game, I own an arcade of it myself. Good graphics (for its time) awesomely fluent controls, kickass music, and you can SHOOT the cars unlike pole position.

I completed Road Blasters in the arcades in the early 90s I vaguely remember there being a phone number to call to get the t-shirt but it was a US no. (I am from the UK) and I didn't have a pen or paper handy to write it down! I also assumed the offer had expired, and most likely only open to US residents, but who knows?
@skyblue116858 жыл бұрын
I always liked roadblasters ever since I played it in the arcades back in the early 1990's, great game & a classic imo. The arcade version was released as part of a compilation in the game called midways arcade treasures (volume 1). Still the stand up arcade version is the best one, especially with that great stearing wheel.

This was one of my favorites games...crazy thing is when you get up in the levels they start putting trees right in the middle of the road. (and they're immune to everything but like the cruise missile if I remember right.)

The Atari Lynx version was surprisingly close back in the day, a great arcade conversion on a handheld. Oddly enough the Vita version of Spy Hunter actually reminds me of an updated version of this.

Still had the 1st Printing of the ATARI System 1 Manual and Road Blasters 1st Printing Manual and still has its Side Art.... It was a working game at the price of a broken game..."Lets just say i got a killer deal and the price range was around the cost of a 3DS!!! :)

Looks pretty fun. Personally though if I ever get an arcade cabnit (in 20 years I can definitely see it happening) I want Bosconian. Although I would be OK with Hydro Thunder or 18 Wheeler too. I wonder if Mark fixes his arcade machines himself or hire someone to do it.

Roadblasters is a great game, but you only get one chance at level 50... you can continue infinitely up to that point, but your first game over in level 50 is it, you start over from the beginning. They didn't want to make it easy to get those t-shirts! Fantastic game though.
