PART 1 of 2! Classic Game Room reviews Thunder Force III for the Sega Genesis. One of the greatest side scrolling shooting games of all time.
Classic Game Room HD is a new member of the Classic Game Room family. A more relaxed, subdued show reviewing classic video games from the past 30 years.
The Sega Genesis 16-Bit Mega Drive monster was arguably the greatest video game console ever made. Hits like Revenge of Shinobi, Sonic the Hedgehog and Streets of Rage all saw heavy action on the Genesis.
One of the greatest games ever made was Thunder Force 3, a side scrolling shooter where you pilot your spaceshipa against wave after wave of enemy bad guys. This shmup is a legendary classic!
Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD.

i still play this game on a weekly basis. the music, the level design, the weapons... its the perfect side scrolling shooter :D been playing this game for 20 years :)

Another great review. I'm glad you're covering a lot of titles for the younger people to get into. In only one week, Classic Game Room HD has FIFTEEN EPISODES. Wow!

I have been addicted to this game for a week now. I bought 2, 3 and 4 and this one keeps me glued. Fantastic game and music too!

just picked this game up again.. haven't played it in 20 years... so amazing! Was up all night playing and re-playing all the stages so I could be it in one run.. very addicting.

Well your half right Thunder Force 3 is getting a remix for the 3ds with Sega 3D Classics Collection Final Stage it's being remade from the ground up using the same components as the old one with new features

also this game has one of my favorite Genesis soundtracks EVER... music has been stuck in my head for days! Even caught myself humming it at work..

TF3 is the only one in the TF series that I really like. In fact I love this game, it's one of my favorite shmups ever. I once managed to beat it on Maniac without losing a single life, that's how addicted to it I used to be. =P

This is one of my most favorite shmups, with loads of fun weapons and a good bit of reflexes and memorization needed to push through to the end. Fabulous level design throughout, with more than just scrolling from the right. Stage Seiren's music is nothing less than perfect for the environment, and is one of my favorite VGM pieces. There isn't a BGM in this game I dislike. though. Tec(h)no Soft is up there with Konami and Square in my VGM-love list.

Awesome looking game! Can't believe I never played it as I grew up with the Genesis. (Always a Sega guy) no offense to Nintendo they were good too. Thanks Mark for these awesome reviews! You've got me into a lot of great titles.

wow!!! i can clear this game with juz one fighter even in the most difficult level yrs back!!! can you imagine how many hours i had put in this game? best shooting game on megadrive!!!

hi!!! i had musha too!!! nice game, nice story and nice music. but hard to compare as TF3 is side scroll and Musha is top view.

Fuuuuuk man I used to play this game a lot growing up . I never got far in it bcuz it was a hard game but dammit if it wasn’t fun.. Great showcase of this video man memories flooding in🤘🏼👍🏼

I found all 3 of those to be insanely hard. Got rid of 3-4, kept tf2 for torturing guests who bug me to play my Genesis, lol. Getting to the start of play, is twice as long as I used to last in those.

Probably my favourite MD game. Beautiful visuals and the sound is amazing. Great review of a great game. I'm sure this was also released for SNES but never played that...

when i was younger i got a playthrough on Hard Mode without loosing a Life xD but my reflexes arent the same like i was 14 Years old anymore .... Why they are not making such cool Games anymore ?

Your right..! All these games today and it’s been said countless times it’s all about graphics . They push these games that aren’t fun the story lines to a lot of games are wack , it’s the same with shooting games they make 5-10 games of the same name there’s really nothing diff no originality anymore. To be honest right now I can’t even think of a game like this or this type of genre that’s out right now but let’s keep fingers cross🤞🏽Game developers come to there senses.. I have seen a lot of indie games that do a way better job then the high end developers.

@@jaybee1158 since get older i cant play gynoug anymore or xenon 2 musha aleste or even rtype (on Gameboy and SNES) but i keep those memory to the best thank you for the comment those games i could play without loosing a life today games are a bit different as you said and thats true

now HD has gone genesis hope u do Comic Zone that game was fun and Sonic that game was the pinnacle game for the Genesis

i have a TF3 cart, but it doesn't work, i've opened it up and cleaned everything, it simply refuses to give me anything other than a black screen, i think the chip itself is busted

Even though this is a 480p video posted back during the W. Bush administration, that TF3 title theme still rips through it.

There actually are some great shooters that take advantage of the xbox 360 power. Check out : Mushihimesama Futari Espgaluda II Black Label DeathSmiles* These games are awesome!
