I remember playing Xenon at the bowling alley in 70s where my mom was in a league. I think this game shot me into puberty.

At the very start it says "Enter Xenon", which always seemed like sexual innuendo to me since that's her name. Then at some point you trigger/hear "Shoot for the fallopian tube!" which I believe is the elevated clear tube run that results from hitting the ramp. Scoring fallopian tube several times enables multi-ball or arms extra ball or something awesome, I forget. During multi-ball if you successfully shoot the fallopian tube Xenon then demands "Put it in my exit chamber!" giving you the chance to quickly score Exit Chamber captive ball hole within 20 seconds to collect jackpot. It's a very difficult string of achievements, but it's doable. That game ate tons of my quarters as a kid. And you're right it definitely seemed to have some sexual undertones.

This machine creeped me out as a kid. I found the glowing red eyes and music really spooky. Only now do I realize what a sexual game it really was, and this was in a mall arcade and not some strip club, lol.

Just bought this table this past weekend. It's awesome!! Already ordered a bunch of LEDs, and other stuff for it too.

"Like the girl at the bar that laughs at everything you say. She's not really interested and just wants you to buy her drinks. That's Xenon." .......A more accurate description of (literally) anything does not exist. That made me laugh, because it is so true. That's exactly how I remember this game.

Imagine my thoughts as a 5yr old when this machine was played at the local arcade. All I can say is TMI for a youngster. Kinda like Cinemax and HBO in their early days. No modifications.

Please tell me I'm not the only one out there who remembers that Tom Servo made a reference to Xenon in the MST3K episode "Girl in Lover's Lane"? The girl in lover's lane wasn't Xenon by the way, though I would understand if she was.

Xenon is one of the best pins EVER. I played it when it came out, and was the first game I owned. Sold it after 7 years. Damn, I miss it.

Hell yeah! This was in the Student Union Center at NLU in 1981. I think it took 2 quarters to play. Very good memories!

I, too, loved this game. The little town I grew up in (Manhattan, IL) had an arcade. I used to rob my Dad’s change jar of all of its quarters and spend them all on pinball and _Battle Zone_

Great machine... We had one in the den of our home for about 5 years... Loved that damn machine... Played from about 6 years old till 11... Very nice!!!

With a little more research before you got behind it to play, your review would have been more than just entertaining. First, Suzanne Ciani was a pioneer in electronic music, sounds and sampling in the late 70s and early 80s. Realizing this review is more than two years old, I would guess (by now) you've seen the Omni magazine video that she guested in with the legendary Peter Ustinov as host. Additionally, you didn't read the instruction card or research _how_ to play the game. There are more objectives than simply inserting coins to hear her moan. Three shots to the saucer enables multiball. Three additional shots into the saucer releases both balls from each exit. Drop targets are activated in two locations and multipliers are plentiful in the game. You, my friend, failed at Xenon! If you ever want to do a review revisited edition on Xenon, I'll school you on how to play it and I guarantee you'll fall in love with more than her assets.

I love this machine so much, I was at a pinball show this summer and spent the whole time gawking over this game.

This looks like a really cool table. I hope that real arcade eventually adds this table. I would buy it. I think I like Bride of Pinbot better but this would be really cool to have.

Ah, a, a a, ah,ah! For a young teen in the early 80's, this was audible sexiness. Never forgot this machine or that sound.

Used to play her at a local bowling alley downtown all the time. On hindsight I think the art is highly inspired by Sergio Macedo - some of his crazy new age stuff from Heavy Metal like "Psychorock" and "Orcyb"...

J'ai pour ma part découvert ce flipper de rêve en novembre 1980 dans un café situé en face de la gare de ma ville. Et là, j'ai eu l'impression de voir un flipper... du 31ème siècle ! Il faut dire que j'étais surtout habitué à ceux d'un autre café situé dans mon quartier et qui n'avait que d'anciens flipper Gottlieb du milieu des années 70. Alors, cela vous donne un aperçu du choc audio-visuel que j'ai ressenti en jouant dessus.

Back in the late 70s and early 80s talking pinball machines were just coming out. When I heard Xenon talk as I was walking down Yonge Street in Toronto I stopped dead in my tracks. I didn't play the machine but I couldn't take my eyes off of it. There are also many other talking games like Berserk. I think nowadays the kids are spoiled with the games available. I know this because every single pinball place on Yonge Street is closed. I can play Pac-Man online for free why should I go into a pinball place and pay a buck and a half.

There was an earlier version of this game knocking about Spain 8 or 9 years earlier, the female voice spoke in french, but the name escapes me and I have not come across any record of it, probably an obscure european maker that went under in the recession of the 70s

Loved this game and you didn't get her voice teasing "try a tube shot" in a very sensual way. I was in a performance art piece that sampled sounds from this game. It was man vs machine theme. Sensual fembots battle man, man wins by "tilting" machine after epic battle of robotic sensuality against macho Kung-Fu. It was actually weirder than it sounds.

I played the hell out of this game when it was new. It pretty much only had two major objectives, which were maxing out the value of the ramp/tube shot and earning your next extra ball. BUT, this game let you know if you had any pinball skills, because you had to be GOOD to score into the millions. It's a great machine and I wish I owned one too...and not for the moaning.
