Frank's had a punch to his face should of been a yellow card there, Richie McCaw had his eyes gouge should of been a red card there and maybe extra 3 points and Read was tackled in mid air not too far from the try line in front of the posts should of been a penalty and easy 3 points there but yes New Zealand got away with some dodgy calls in the game too but the ref was not favoring New Zealand both teams got away with some dodgy calls but still poor refing but France were not robbed they were lucky to even make it in the playoffs after losing 2 pool games and Wales had some bad calls gone against them in the semi finals when they played France so Wales should of been playing New Zealand in the finals plus New Zealand had a few of there very best players injured had Dan Carter been playing it would of been a totally different game.

Quizas aqui se comente solo en ingles. Soy italiano y escribo desde Perù en castellano-espanol. Muchas veces he visto los highlights de esta final mundial entre NZ y Francia, pero ese penalty de McDonalds nunca lo metio' entre los palos del H. Mundial robado a Francia. NZ lo merecio' por su juego y resultados a lo largo de esa competicion, però la final fue un regalo immenso a los All Blacks que habian organizzato ese Mundial de rugby.

With video today, such a scandal could not normally occur. The 16th All Black was the referee. What a shame ! How can this be called a victory? Poor French team literally robbed against South Africa in 1995. It seems that in sport France is the subject of special treatment from the referees. I remember this famous France-Germany football World Cup semi- final match in 1982 in Seville... All this is very ugly.

@World Rugby You dare bring this back up ? We ALL KNOW who won this finale, but in 2023 Craig Joubert wont be refereeing it. He's sort of non-unvited in France,. to put it mildly. We're rugby supporters, so we can accept a few mistakes, but these ones were too many, and we still have it bitter.

you must be a French national; if your 21 converts the penalty; there is no reason for France to lose no? take your chances.... he is a reserves for a reason; his legs should be destroyed when he return to France; missing the point by a few inches is negligible but to miss by that big of a margin is kinda funny for a PROFESSIONAL player... nerves got to him I guess; AB 21 is not even the third string 10 BTW; he was holidaying when he got the call to suit up for the AB and you can see by the tightness of his AB jersey #21 that he is not match fit but still did his part by converting the penalty (he also almost miss the penalty but he scored which all that mattered).. you can't blame the referee when your 21 miss the penalty for France to take the lead in a close match; blaming the referee is way to easy LMAO

I am from Malaysia; your 21 at the 2011 RWC missed his penalty kick that could have won the RWC lmao (I guess you have selective memory about that final); you are blaming the referee when he gave your side the penalty which could have won the game if not for the kick that was so far from the within the post! please use common sense (if there weren't a penalty kick then maybe Joubert shouldn't ref forever; he gave you the penalty which could have won you the match) - if he was that biased.. you wouldn't even get the penalty which your #21 missed... i think you block out that #21 terrible miss right? you can see from this replay how far was wide to the post is from the kick.. short run-up to kick a long penalty kick....

That ref joubert was terrible and even though the all blacks are a quality side it's never good when you're team gets helped by stupid refereeing the Le bleu were up to it that night and might have just got an amazing win in NZ against the odd's. Don't get me I'm not saying that they 100% would have won but things might have ended differently (MIGHT).

I think as a contest these two sides werent the best in the competition that got to the final, Wales would have beat the French if it wasn't for the red card and the AB were very average compared to previous teams.

Always cracks me up seeing people claim that Craig Joubert was the 16th man for the All Blacks on that night. I wonder how many of those people who claim this laughed and mocked All Blacks fans four years earlier when an actually bad refereeing performance by Wayne Barnes aided the French team on that night? Joubert gave France kickable penalties in the second half of that 2011 Final, Barnes did not penalize France once in the second half in 2007's Quarter Final. For the claims that Joubert was one-eyed towards the All Blacks and missed infringements from them, he missed Aurelin Rougerie first illegally kicking the ball out of a ruck that allowed France to score their try, then second the disgraceful eye-gouge on Richie McCaw by Rougerie as well. Take nothing away from that French team. For all the turmoil they went through in that tournament they were magnificent in that Final and better goal kicking from them would have changed the way that game played out. There's just no solid evidence that Joubert was biased towards the All Blacks that night and the people who claim he was cannot hide their own bias against the All Blacks.

Dont find excuses in Joubert to make things look the same when NZ was beaten in 2007 by France with a forward pass. Joubort refs so well in this match.

It's way worse than 2007. It was just one big mistake in 2007. In 2011 it was a lot of mistakes or inconsistancy during all the game. Joubert objectively didn't ref well they are plenty of youtube video to analyse this. But we honnestly were as delusional in 2007 as you were in 2011. We too didn't aknowledge the stole in 2007.
