I absolutely love 4e and still play alongside 5e and other systems today.

I've owned this for a while but only skimmed. It's been the top of my "to run" list. I love what I've seen so far and thanks for the review!

Thanks for making such a comprehensive review of this - I've been going through my old 4e adventures and converting them to the Dragon Age/Fantasy Age system but never got this when it first came out. I remember hearing good things at the time but looking to get a copy today I was put off by the prices. Watching this makes me determined to track it down at a reasonable price - normally I'd just go for the PDF on DrivethruRPG but I think with something this big I'd rather have a physical copy of the books

I didn't get into 4th edition. But this adventure looks pretty awesome. reminds me of the old ravenloft adventure were the fortune telling at the start changes the adventure. Noticed it is available on DM guild to purchase.

I have a couple of small research quests for my players to take on then some time for them to train their skills, which allows me to push the timeline along. They recently finished "Keep on the Shadowfell" with a few encounters to tie it into my homebrew world, then I'm going to call them back to Winterhaven to begin scouting Gardmore abbey. It helps that the PC's actually wanted to invest in land near Winterhaven which gives me a further vested interest to play on to incentivise the PC's return. The players are pretty well equipped by now after an encounter with Pelor (long story) so the fact that they are level 4 with one level 3 (replacement for the death of the level 4 cleric) will hopefully mean that these encounters will be a serious challenge and perhaps encourage the players to try to approach the Abbey with a less "murder-hobo" attitude.

I still believe it would be a huge hit if they were to make a Final Fantasy / Fire Emblem - esque tactics game with D&D 4e verbatim, with MMORPG elements like Wakfu/Dofus.

I think that would be great, even if it were released as something like d20 Fantasy Tactics. I've always believed that the system in 4th Edition would have been better received if it released under any other name than Dungeons & Dragons

Is there a place where I can get just that specific deck of many things, I have been trying to find a set that matches the images in the Dungeon Masters Guide and this is it, so can you get just the deck?
@Moundhousedude4 жыл бұрын
This deck was specific to this module, unfortunately. D&D has not produced a stand-alone DoMT since the one included in Dragon Magazine *way* back in the day, and even then you had to cut them out of the magazine because they came as an insert. You can try to find an owner of this module willing to piece it out or you’ll have to find one of these complete modules.

Wish GF9 would republish a deluxe version of the deck

I would love to see that

Great story, but how many innocent people did you pass your cold on to? jk

The need to quarantine was secondary to getting my hands on the Deck of Many Things.
