Classic Star Wars Battlefront II still slaps in 2024

I played Star Wars Battlefront 2 (the 2005 one) for the first time in a while and made a goofy video about it. This video is pretty different than my usual ones and not just because it's not Halo so that's cool. I'll go back to Halo for my next video but I also want to start integrating other games more.

@ncard00 Best you'll get is mods that upscale the game. There are some mods that actually do a pretty good job of that, though.

@@ncard00 There is an official upscaled version of the original battlefront 1 and 2 being released in March for all platforms and it will have multiplayer.

My first day as a member of the 501st... it was hot, it was sandy, chaotic. Nothing at all like the simulations on Kamino. Of course that's pretty much the way it was for all of us, wasn't it? All that breeding, all those years of training... it doesn't really prepare you for all the screaming or the blood, does it? Frankly I'm still amazed we ever made it through the first hour, never-mind the first day. Incredibly, the 501st survived the crucible of Geonosis, emerging battle-hardened, and ready for whatever the war and wind would throw at us.

I always replayed that mission just so I could play as hooded Anakin. It's a bummer that this skin isn't available outside the campaign.

The OG Battlefront II has been my comfort game for a while. Love it for all of its flaws and quirks. My personal favorite mode is Galactic Conquest; wish other shooter games had tried that concept. I’ve done playthroughs where I didn’t spend any credits, or only played as one class, or didn’t enter any vehicles just to add an extra layer of challenge. Also I respectfully disagree Frog, I think the award pistol is even more OP than the award rifle

I love the old battlefront 2 as much as everyone else, but come on, it definitely was not ahead of it’s time. Lets be honest. Even by the standards of 2005, the game had no innovation, or anything truly spectacular. It was fun, yeah, but really not that impressive, and quite frankly pretty lazy in a lot of areas.

@matthewcarlson2939 I can when I was one of the ones developing the RTX mod I suppose. It's been slow going, but I was working with harisonfog who made the remastered maps to bring PBR textures and RTX to the game via RTX remix.

I remember being 6 years old when this game came out back in 2005. A friend of mine had it for PlayStation 2, and we played it together. It was awesome then, and 18 years later it's still awesome.

Battlefront 1 campaign was better imo, I enjoy playing that one a lot more bc it's more open and strategic rather than how linear this one is, plus the infinite enemies is bizarre and often you are the last person alive doing everything. The big W on this one is space battles, playable heroes and villains, and the galactic conquest mode, the galactic conquest in this game is the most fun part of the game especially when playing against a friend who is on the other team. The campaign on this one didn't age as good as I wish it had, I like the cleaner look and more strategic open gameplay of Battlefront 1 campaign.

I like both I remember struggling on the rhen var map in the clone wars campaign the ai would almost always overrun me but it was so cool to have a last stand in a saber tank

They originally planned to have modes for any faction to fight any faction but removed it so now you have to use mods to get that

wait I've never seen the laats you need to destroy on kamino lift off and fight back is that just a thing on the ps2 version? usually they stay landed and get destroyed by the ai before I can even get there.
