Nobody: The percussion screwing around in the back of the class:
@embrezar3 жыл бұрын
The percussion always screws around... it's just how they roll, it's in their blood, apparently. And then, we get stuff like this video. Or, in my experience, yelled at a lot for the percussion screwing around... sometimes, it works out for the best.

Hello everyone, On behalf of my fellow percussionists, we appreciate all the support that this video's received. We never expected it to get over 100k views, but here we are. To answer a few common questions that I've seen: The song is Offenbach vs Liszt (arranged by Chris Brooks). The song goes between the Can Can, and Hungarian Rhapsody #2. The boomwhackers are hitting 2x8 pieces of wood, with tops of carpeting. We had someone make them specifically for the piece. Thanks again for all the support, Scott (5th from the right, the one with the newspaper)

Scott, who is this group, and where did the performance take place? Was this a one-off?
@ScottMacarthy5 жыл бұрын
@ProFriend this group was our high school percussion section at the annual Drummin’ with the Monkey show at Waukee High School. This show was a one-off (only performed at two shows the same day), but the actual Drummin’ with the Monkey was an annual show from roughly 2000-2016. It ended after my senior year when our percussion instructor stepped down from his position and his replacements opted to not continue the shows.

We often use BOOMWHACKERS during The Dementia music -therapy sessions at which I volunteer. They sometimes ‘confuse ‘ our participants, who occasionally think they have to BLOW down the tubes, but what ever we do, everyone has lots of fun with them. But this group has taken boomwhacker-playing to a different level! These guys are all superb musicians and much praise must go to the arranger of this piece. The comedic element they display, is superb, too. What a truly positive and uplifting video this is!! Barbara Van Doren , LONDON.
