Wow!… Such a different song I love this one…
Welcome to EamonReacts. I am a classical pianist who has played the piano for 12 years now. I have a passion for music and on this channel I delve into new types of music in the same way that I have delved into classical piano my entire life.

It always interesting to hear a musician's reaction to Radiohead! People with musical knowledge usually give more interesting insights into the music. If you're interested in listening to more Radiohead, I'd recommend the song "Nude". The live version "from the Basement" is phenomenal. I don't know if you're interested in reacting to longer live sessions, but the whole live session from Radiohead's "In Rainbows From the Basement" is my favourite live recording of them. The intimate setting really elevates their music to another level. It's a bit over an hour long, so I'm not sure if you're up for something so long though lol. Another artist that's a great pianist is Fiona Apple. I would recommend her song "I want you to love me". Fantastic piano in that one! Enjoy your reactions, keep it up! :)

This means a lot, thank you, and I mean that. I started this for fun but to hear that you and others are enjoying these has set my mind on continuing this further! I added your recommendations to my list, and I'll let you know when I have a chance to upload! Thank you!

@@EamonReactsI second nude. I think nude and weird fishes, both from the same album would be really interesting to hear about from someone who has musical training.

This is the song I would recommend: Radiohead - Like Spinning Plates (Why Us?) Absolutely emotional and beautiful, my favorite song from Radiohead.

Thank you for this great reaction to Paranoid Android. I love Radiohead and am a huge fan. This song seems like 3 different songs all rolled into one. It's worth watching them do this live and I recommend Paranoid Android live at Jools Holland video here on YT. It is so amazing to see them perform this live. I also really love In Rainbows live recording sessions From the Basement series they did.

Nicely done! Check it out - "Paranoid Android: Live on Jools Holland" to see how incredible they are as a live band recreating that almost just how you heard it, live, no tricks, 5 guys - masters of the last 30 years.

Yup, the comment on Paranoid Android being 'edited' made me think 'well, yes, but not nearly as much as I think you're imagining' they have an extensive range of live-effect tricks in play. The 'From the Basement' sessions show this very nicely, and Ed O'Brien in an interview on 'That Pedal Show' said they don't use any backing tracks in their shows (except for The Gloaming).

@@lk-music Ha, yeah, talk about a pedal board! As a creative mind less than an ordered one (and one can be both for sure)and always struggling with the theory and technical stuff, I can't even fathom it other than to marvel at it and wish I'd spent more time doing the work when younger to gain proficiency in those areas. It is never too late of course, I used to pride myself on just figuring out how to play and improvise blues, but how much better a player I'd be and thus so much more joy of expression with that additional skill now. In my 40's, so clock is ticking, but it doesn't appear you need any push to approach music in this way but keep up the diligent continuing of soaking in and mastering all you can. You'll turn around one day and be so glad you did.

I'd love to see you react to their performance of their track 'Weird Fishes ' in the 'From The Basement' series. The guitar arpeggios are basically witchcraft. I've learnt to play it....sort of...on the piano, but it's crazy how they interweave.

Nice reaction. I've subscribed and I'm hoping for more Radiohead and other great music. It's cool and interesting to hear the opinions of a trained musician compared to other reactors who are mainly just music fans. If you'd like some Radiohead recommendations I suggest you react to Pyramid Song, Karma Police, Street Spirit (Fade Out), and Weird Fishes/Arpeggi. There are so many more that I and other fans can recommend but I don't want to overwhelm you right now. Keep it up!

I watched your two Radiohead reactions and I enjoy seeing them through your ears. I would make a suggestion for your channel for the future, the could quality to your listener is very tinny and high pitched. We don’t experience the beauty and depth of the music with you. It’s even difficult to make it all the way through a video like this one because of the sound quality. Other than that, great channel, I enjoy your viewpoint very much.

Some great Radiohead tracks to react to are "Pyramid Song", and "Like Spinning Plates" Why Us Version from the Kid Mnesiac double cd set. Lots of piano, and beautiful, emotional tracks that I think you'll really enjoy immensely. Give them a listen, and I'm sure you'll aggree, Eamon.

Hey, while I'm not a professional classical pianist I was classically trained for a decade through my teens and still play a lot as a hobby - working through Rachmaninoffs 2nd Concerto at the moment. What I will say about Radiohead is that they are legendary, and they are the band who truly opened the world of music to me. Their artistic approach to modern songwriting is analogous to the artistic approach that classical music has, and I definitely recommend trying more Radiohead, it is so worth it if they click for you. The Radiohead guitarist Johnny Greenwood is well versed in music theory and brings a lot of classical influences, and does great contemporary classical music for movie soundtracks like Spencer. The Radiohead album A Moon Shaped Pool (their most recent) has the most classical elements, I'd suggest songs like Burn the Witch and Daydreaming (possibly my favourite Radiohead song and near my favourite song of all time).

I would recommend two songs that a classically trained musician would like by Radiohead (really there are so many) but Bloom but it must be from the basement live and Weird Fishes/Arpeggi live from a different basement session the 3 guitars playing broken chords at different time signatures is wicked.

Hmmm, so no comments about the shift from two 8 beat bars of 4/4 which is really one 12 beat bar and one 4 beat, to 7/8s interspersed with 8/8? And then to slower tempo 4/4?

Hi Eamon, Nice reaction! I really like people hearing my favorite music for the first time. If you haven't heard it yet, Billie Eilish's "No Time To Die" would be an interesting reaction. I think it's the perfect "Bond Song" - written for over the credits of a spy movie, but stands up very well on it's own.
