I was able to meet Davy about 5 times (1986-2002) in my life. He always had time to stop for fans and pose for pictures and sign autographs. One of the nicest celebrities that I ever met. I was heartbroken when I heard that he had passed. Been a fan since 1966. Let's get The Monkees into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame already!!!

I also had the pleasure of meeting Davy-3 times. The first time I met him was in early 1988 when he was promoting his book “They Made a Monkee out of Me.” I was 17 then and I got a kiss on the cheek from him. Needless to say, I had the story to tell my classmates for a week. I agree that Davy was a very nice person, very genuine and it was obvious that he loved his fans. I also believe that he had this joie de vivre about him that he showed in his performing and in the way he presented himself. I was shocked and heartbroken when I heard about his passing. I remain grateful for the wonderful memories that Davy has provided me with. I’m glad that he gave you these memories.

For a small guy, he stands head and shoulders above the rest of us in talent stakes. His vocal range and feel for the song is very impressive for his age. In those days, fame had to be earned . Sadly, these days you hardly need any talent at all to be famous.

This was a wonderful find. Davy Jones was a talented singer, musician and performer. Who knew from this video that he would become a megastar? I had the pleasure of meeting him 3 times and seeing him in concert many times between 1986-2011. Davy showed a true love of performing and he truly loved his fans. He is sadly missed yet fondly remembered.

In 2001 Davy did a solo concert at a local music fest here in NWI. Afterwards, he sat under a canopy at a table and greeted the fans. Well, next day he had a great write up in the local paper - I was smack in the middle of a line of at least 500 people, and he stayed till he met every one! Friendly to us all, never got tired throughout. RIP
