Great sportsmanship by Lamar Lathon to come up and console Stover after that miss. Nowadays, guys would be taunting him and doin' all kinds of unnecessary stuff.

So many QBs back then had rocket arms…this game is an example of 2 of them.

I was there, too. Got my ticket by walking up the the booth and bought one. There were plenty seats available, as mentioned by Paul Maguire, "A lot of those puppies stayed home today.". He and Marv Albert were a great tandem calling games! Paul seemed to be the comedic foil to Marv's "by-the-book" play-by-play announcing. Stover slipped on the muddy turf/infield. The Tribe still played there and it was in December.

I forgot how much I used to like to watch these guys. An AFC Central fight in the dog pound. Those divisional games were the best.

Nothing like it used to be. I am a Titans fan now, but nothing can replace football in the 80s and 90s.

What did the locals call Cleveland Stadium..."The Mistake by the Lake?" As a life-long Oilers fan, I miss them so much. The AFC Central was a mad-house and the Browns always gave H-Town fits.

Great post!! Do you have the 1992 game where the Oilers hit the long screen pass to White after a huge Clay Mathews sack. It was like 3rd and 17 and the Oilers broke it all the way into deep Cleveland territory.

I can remember jumping around and celebrating after that screen. If I remember correctly that was a must win game also

@@elbertbass6610 + Yes it was a must win Elbert. I wish KZfaq would inform me of every comment, especially on something like this. Yes, if they would have lost they would have been out because they lost to Cleveland that year. Something like that.

As a lifelong browns fan this is the only browns game I ever attended in Cleveland I was 9. Seen them plenty since moving to Florida when they come here but I want to get back and attend one in the land

Only home field advantage Cleveland had in that stadium was the Dawg Pound. The playing surface was terrible for all teams playing there including the Browns. That missed field goal at end of game was because of that crappy playing surface.

Belichick did a great job in '91 by turning around the team's culture after 1990, a season arguably worse than even the 0-16 season in many ways.
