IMHO one of the veeeery greatest, if not THE greatest cellist of the 20th century! I have been lucky enough to know him personally, to attend several of his recitals, and to have extended conversations with him. What an intelligent and charming person! What a fantastic MUSICIAN! And Debussy's sonata is a masterpiece, of course.

@monologtube I'm not sure, although all I have ever seen or heard this Sonata performed by Gendron is this recording.

There is one another recording of Debussy sonata by Gendron with Francais on piano. You should try also..
