An exquisite performance, which should serve as a reference recording for years to come. Delicacy, fire, melancholy, dream and humour all dance perfectly in this sublime interpretation by a pianist whose intellect and imagination are perfectly balanced, and who avoids the shallow virtuosity to which too many pianists fall prey. Anna Tsybulyeva is simply one of the greatest artists of our time. She embodies the Romantic ideal as expressed by August Wilhelm Schlegel: “...to reconcile and indissolubly fuse the two worlds between which we are torn, the spiritual and the sensual.” Not torn, though, in Anna's presence, but reconciled in a luminous tension. Her grace, discipline, delicacy, power, sensitivity and beauty are nothing short of marvelous.

@@KnightClassical Indeed, all of them are wonderful. I've been eagerly seeking out all of Anna's performances since her stunning Brahms 2nd. And her incandescent Prokofiev 2nd with Frankfurt in January is a frequent guest in my house!

Thank you Knight Classical for publishing this wonderful music with Anna Tsybuleva. Debussy had a completely new language for piano when he wrote his preludes. And Anna can talk his language. She is, as I see it, a master in interpreting Debussy.

I dont believe I ever before have came across these complete Préludes. Anyway it is a blessing to have the opportunity to listen to them all. I thank Anna Tsybuleva for making this wonderful recording, and I thank Knight Classical for laying this out. One hour and 23 minutes of wonderful Debussy.
