Very cool seeing footage from the record show. I haven’t been to one in a couple of years. That’s a shame that not all the tables were set up yet.

So happy you grabbed that Urban Guerrillas album. When I saw that one in the bin I almost fell over. I'm from Minneapolis originally and used to see the Urban Guerrillas play all the time in clubs all over MPLS. The album has been out of print for decades. They were fantastic live. Wish you would have grabbed the Trip Shakespeare album too, right before you flipped to the Urban Guerrillas album. They were an even better live Minneapolis band. A few members of Trip Shakespeare went on to form Semisonic.

Stephen, I was living in MN in the mid 80s ad everyone talked about the Urban Guerrillas but I never had an album by them. I was shocked to see it so i had to gab it. I use to have the Trip Shakespeare MN ad some amazing bands back then didn’t they.

Looked like a good show Steve. And it's cool that you and Jim got to go together. it's been several years since I've been able to go to a record show. It'd be fun to tag along with you and other VC members to one. That sure was a lot of mofi's. I saw you pause on the Vertigo release of Octopus by Gentle Giant. That gave me a smile. I'd love to find one of those some day. They are pricey. Enjoy your new pickups!

I saved the vinyl on Octopus so I was in need of a cover. I just didn’t pull the trigger for it Bill. Next week Denver has a record show so I may go to that, still thinking it over. I was trying to not buy much which I succeeded but a copy of Nick Drake Pink Moon could have been mine, to tempting !

Wow. Two hour drive. God bless you for making that pilgrimage. I’ve never done a early bird. My philosophy is getting there late. Now, you will miss out on the hots stuff but you can grab some deals as sellers are usually ready to get product moving. Sometimes $10, $15 and $20 off a record. It’s a trade-off, I suppose. How did I miss this show? Was this the Livonia show? Great fun video Steve. Well done! Shawn.

Hello Steve, nice video. I was right there when a guy bought the Nick Drake Pink Moon album for $250 from Carter. It was a gatefold US copy on the Island label, white palm tree with pink rim. I didn't even know there was a US release of that. I was wanting that for myself, but oh well. I'll have to be happy with my UK re-issue on the blue Island label, not a gatefold but it has that on the inner sleeve. It was a fun time. I"m from Davison and try to go to all the shows in Michigan. Cheers!

Very nice video, as always, Steve. I’m very intrigued by that band with the reproduction of Norways best known painting, the Scream, by Edvard Munch (Moo-nk). Funny how the band is named after a members sirname that happens to mean Morning in Norwegian. I think I have a litograph print on a t-shirt of the scream that resembles this albumcover. So many amazing records there, but boy, a lot of 3 numbered pricetags too! Enjoy your Easter Steve.

Good stuff at this show, Professor - Love Was (Not Was) and that album in particular - "What up Dog?" is a top notch album for sure. The bad thing about watching you go through stuff is seeing a ton of things I love on MoFi...albums that I never knew HAD a MoFI issue, like Gerry Rafferty's "City To City" and Manhattan Transfer's "Extensions"...are you TRYING to get me started on a MoFi kick now, huh? Urban Guerillas is not a shed burner but a very good group that would meet your seal of approval. I question my sanity for missing the Barry Gibs and Babs, I went to one record store that had at least 12 of them. My neighbor, who recently passed, was from Australia, her name was Barb but she went by Babs. She married a Welshman , a submarine sailor, who was a great friend but also died. They were quite a bit older but made excellent gin and tonics. Had many a happy hour with Babs and James on their front porch.
