Tried and True, American Idol Super Star Alumni Clay Aikens first Public Television special, reaches back into the romantic past of the 50s and 60s, featuring many of the most iconic love songs ever written. Shot at the Memorial Auditorium in Clays home town of Raleigh, North Carolina, Tried and True features a full orchestra and big band. Clay is joined on stage by special guest and American Idol colleague Ruben Studdard, along with special guest Linda Eder, who is widely recognized as one of the best female vocalists of our time.
This special concert is the world premiere live performance of Clays forthcoming album, Tried and True, being released on Decca this Spring.

Clay is an exceptional singer. His voice is phenomenal. When he sings, you feel it from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet. Amazing!!!

This little clip of the taping is more than I would have thought possible. It captures the magic of Clay the man and the singer/performer. It also shows the fine quality of the production. I've seen Clay in every concert he has done but this show in Raleigh left me speechless. This is the voice I've been waiting for since American Idol. Thank you Decca for letting the real Clay Aiken sing. Clay is the Magic Man.

What a phenomenal performer. What a voice and personality. I just love when he comes out to sing "Whose Sorry Now?" That man is lethal...and singing that song will kill ya...but, in a good way. Just love him!

I for one am over the moon excited about Clays song choices!! Just look at him smile and the glow from his face tells me he's happy!! Never have I heard Clay sing richer and fuller until now.. Go to i-tunes or his facebook or B&N and hear perfection.. I can't wait until this special airs..and TNT is released.. Both are going to be masterpieces!!!!

All RIIIIGHT!! The Vox is BACK, and I'm so happy. Not only to get this show on PBS, but the Decca album in June PLUS I'm going to see Clay and Ruben in August ??? The 2-year drought is OVER!! If International Media captured half the magic that was present on the night of the taping, the special will be spectacular! Judging from this clip, it looks like they did. With Tried and True, Clay has made me love songs I didn't even like before! He's incredible, and I can't wait to watch the show on my PBS station and buy the DVD.

What happened to the 11,000 views? I hate to see this video lose all those views and the great comments! Clay is an AMAZING singer and entertainer! I was at this concert in Raleigh and the man has never sounded or looked better! He was fantastic! Best voice on the planet! Hands down! This is the kind of music Clay was meant to sing.. The music is spectacular, people of any age will enjoy it.. The same style as Michael Buble, and look at his success. You can't pigeon hole people into saying 20 year olds will not like this older music. I give them far more credit than that. This is good music, and if you have an ear for great music...you'll enjoy this. Clay has a voice like no other...

I think with the popularity of Glee these days, that people appreciate the old Tried and True standards, and realize the value of good melodies and lyrics. I think he will do well with this CD. He has an amazing voice, and is fantastic in concert...He is so personable, and has real comedic timing....Love Him!

I was there and this captures the amazingness perfectly. My only complaint? Why, oh, why was Unchained Melody not included in the preview? That was the best!!!!!!!! I was blown away. Clay is sooo talented and amazing. I can't wait til June 1st! I think I'm gonna diee!!

Why was it taken down? Now the view count and comments are not acurrate. GRRR! Anyway, I was there the night of this taping and it was such an amazing experience to be sitting there listening and viewing this amazingly talented young man. I can't wait to see the whole show again. It was actually captured beautifully, I was worried that it wouldn't be. But they did a great job. The band, the orchestra and the lighting were perfect. And of course Clay was amazing as always. I want that cd NOW!

It's torture waiting for the special, but at least we'll have the album in two weeks. The way he sings "Who's Sorry Now" gives me goosebumps. sigh. There is no one better.

Glad to see OMC back doing something musical again. I'm P.O. with PBS. The Tried and True show has been canceled so many times b/c it "donation time again". I've recorded so much crap I refuse to watch that channel for a while. I even called them last night when they were on their "break" b/c right at the last moment before Clay and Ruben were to come on they switched to Leonard Cohen. Not that he's bad or anything like that but I wanted to see Clay and Ruben.

davesmama2008, they removed the video, added contact info at the end, and uploaded it again to youtube -- losing the original count which is a shame. I hope they made note of that count somewhere. This man deserves the best! He is amazing -- that show was incredible! I can't wait to get his new CD on June 1st and see this PBS Special in August.

I was at the taping, and it still gives me goosebumps to watch this clip. It was a magical night. Clay was in top form, better than ever. The musicians were amazing, I'm still in awe. The production was outstanding, and the lighting spectacular. It was a dream come true, and I'm so very happy I was there to experience it. Thank you Decca and International Media!

Despite all the talk about his career fading I never doubted he had another deck to pull out and here it is. Getting a #9 C.D. with no hit single, no current tour, few T.V. appearances attests once that again that if there is good music out there the public will find out about it and get it.

I think International Media had NO idea that they would lose the original site when they made the addition. Surely they wouldn't have done it otherwise.
