In 2022 I challenged myself to live by the sea for 7 nights, with nothing other than Ancient Maori Primitive Tools and 1 life jacket, 2 Go Pros, 9 batteries, a galaxy s22 Ultra Android, the clothes I am wearing, and one life jacket.
Whilst I endeavored to build the hut using just stone tools some of the wood I have collected off the beach has been previously cut from other people who had abandoned it there. It took me 3 and half days to construct the hut until I actually moved into the hut. The 7-day exercise took part after it was constructed where I lived using nothing other than what I made. The only modern equipment I used was my clothes, life jacket, and filming gear. This is a survival exercise only for educational & entertainment purposes only.
Where I get my Amorak Jacket 10 % off collabs.shop/ihlmkn
This is the short version. Here are the links to the long versions.
1) Building a Kontiki Fishing Set Line • Primitive Coastal Camp...
2) Building a Raft from flax • How To Make A Primitiv...

In March 2022 I set myself the challenge of camping 7 nights away with primitive Maori tools, two GoPro, 8 batteries, 1 X life jacket, and what I was wearing. I created 2 videos from this which you may have seen. Whilst I have endeavored to build the hut using just stone tools some of the wood I have collected off the beach has been previously cut from other people who have abandoned it there so I am unable to claim the hut is 100% made by primitive means. I hope you enjoy my experience camping on he coast in Tasman. Soth Island NZ. use the code here 10Clay and get 10% off your Amorak Jacket that I am living in on this camp. collabs.shop/ihlmkn 1) Building a Kontiki Fishing Set Line kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sNWhgNl_0JvcfX0.html 2) Building a Raft from flax kzfaq.info/get/bejne/lc-fjKyn3Z7ckoE.html

Really nice to see the skills of the Ancestors used. Reminded me of family members when I was a child who could go bush empty handed and thrive. Good to see why Maori held harakeke in such esteem. I used a bone like that to catch Tuna, Eels as a kid or just the fibres of the plant to catch them with an old Koro guiding me. Thanks Clay, you brought back a lot of childhood memories of our ways.

You clearly showed that even with all your experience, catching a fish and making fire was far from easy. Makes me even more determined to take my skill-set to the next level…and to keep learning. Thank ypu sir! I’m looking forward to keep on learning from people like you. 👍💪
