Because then there's a sense of control that comes back there like, “Oh they're still into me and now I can kind of decide whether I’ll engage or not,” or just the validation of “someone still loves me.”

The last thing that you need to do is now abandon yourself so staying connected to yourself is saying, “Okay got it. This person may have left but I'm not gonna leave me. I've got my own back.” And this is where you get to learn how to really do that.
